We work with participants of all ages. I’ve had extremely happy parents and caregivers say their son or daughter used to sit by themselves at recess and lunch because they lacked the confidence and skills to play ball games.

With our 1 to 1 mentoring using sport as a vehicle, we help kids build their skills and therefore their self confidence, to feel they can join in with friends. As a parent all we want is for our kids to be happy and have friends, for those with a disability they sometimes need some help to achieve this basic but critical milestone.

A video I did a few years ago discussing cognitive and spatial challenges some people with a disability have, that may not be immediately obvious.

To help people achieve their plan goals, it’s important we ask questions and help the person gain a greater understanding of what they are doing.

Great unsolicited feedback from a Caregiver who also gave me a picture of "I" with a HUGE smile on his face. I passed this on to my Coach Syed to show how much he is helping his clients grow and develop and change their lives for the better.

"From 8 years of age when "I" was no longer able to play junior footy cause he was no longer allowed to have a ‘buddy’ on the field to now playing in the SANFL inclusive league so "I" can play footy again.

John, your program offers ongoing weekly 1:1 sessions, with your Mentor Syed using a preferred sport for "I" ( in this case AFL football) as the therapy conduit to holistically support "I".

Along with his Allied Health providers, you provide a vital service in complimenting what they do in a client-centric approach"

From young kids who want to gain self-confidence and skills so they can play with friends at school, to those playing a sport and wanting to join or stay in a club for social and recreational benefits.

We provide 1 to 1 Mentoring, Sports and Physical Activities to help people gain skills in a safe and focused environment. Whether it's engaging in a range of sports and activities, or they have a chosen sport they love, we can do weekly 1 to 1 sessions in AFL, Soccer, Tennis, Basketball, Cricket and general physical activities and help motor skill development, balance, agility, dealing with challenges, taking instructions. From Onkaparinga to Elizabeth, let's have a chat to see how we can help achieve your NDIS Plan Goals.

For people with Autism, skill acquisition can be quite difficult. We use sport to help develop the skills to take instructions, build body position awareness, achieve milestones and improve their self-esteem.

"K" in the pics below has been working on her cricket with me for quite some time and is now standing up taller and bowling with more energy and accuracy. Her self-belief has increased significantly going from someone who at times refused to take part in her games, to now socialising with her teammates and engaging in all aspects of the game without question.

Feedback from a couple of different parents:

"Our son loves his sessions with Chol, he is great with him"

"Our OT has said they can see the benefits of what Emanuel is doing"

Love getting unsolicited feedback from parents

Really happy and proud for the Adelaide Inclusive Cricket League to be named as a Finalist in the Sport SA Awards.

Great to keep the recognition of our League going to let people know they have a safe and supportive environment to enjoy our great game if they want to.

Thanks to Jo Connolly at SACA for the nomination.

"A" working on dribbling the ball with the left hand, then when getting to the next set of cones switching to the right hand. Cognitively can be a challenge for some as focusing on going in between cones, dribbling the ball, preparing to change hands.

Good to improve decision making and focus, while also working motor skills.

Our Coach Sam had a great session with a couple of participants today at the Indoor Golf range. The guys loved seeing all the stats show up about their shots, lots of laughs, and wanted the session to go longer.

Hopefully we can do something regularly, with those who have never hit a golf ball through to keen golfers.

"J" has complex disabilities, and regulation is super important to keep him happy and motivated. Knowing this I asked Mum if she wanted a session for him despite it being a public holiday, and she said yes that would be great.

We had our session, and he was very out of sorts at the start as his routine for the day was being disrupted due to other providers not being available. By the end of our Jump Start session where we do soccer, tennis, basketball and motor skill development, he was relaxed and happy which was great.

Working on a Public Holiday is not always practical, and we all need a break, but where we can easily accommodate and the participant will greatly benefit, we're glad to do it.

Had a new Coach start on Saturday, Noah finished Year 12 last year and is passionate about helping kids. He has experience in a special needs school environment so understands the challenges. Just got this text from the parent:

“Noah was great, he seemed nervous at the start which I assume was because this is his first client. He quickly built a great rapport with “M” playing cricket, and for the last 15 minutes worked with him on football as we discussed and I was impressed with the progress in such a short time.”
