If you haven’t heard, the pharmacy has changed hands, Summer and I will be leaving Weipa after 6 years. I didn’t want to make a big deal or say anything, but my amazing wife said I must, happy wife happy life.
I’ll try and keep this short.
These last 6 years have been incredible. Running a business in Weipa has been beyond difficult at times, but it has also been so incredibly rewarding. Being remote has its benefits and disadvantages, even just getting things to Weipa is hard sometimes! I hope despite the hiccups I have been able to do right by you all and provide you with a service this community deserves.
The beauty in Weipa isn’t in its surrounds, its beaches or its creeks. The beauty in Weipa is in its people. In a world that is increasingly online and scattered, in Weipa our lives felt connected, grounded and uncomplicated. It’s foolish to say this because I don’t think it is true, but I hope I was able to give back to the Weipa community as much as it has given me. To everyone who has supported the pharmacy, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
To current and former employees – you are all the engine that makes this place go. Your hard work makes me look better than I am. I can’t put into words my thanks. This pharmacy wouldn’t be what it is without you. I and hopefully the community of Weipa appreciate everything you do for them.
I leave it to the capable new owners who I believe will do an amazing job.
Thanks Weipa, it has been real.
