This is my Oma and Great Oma. I am blessed to be named after them....my great Oma is Johanna Petronella Berghuis, my Oma is Johanna Petronella Berghuis Meijer and I am Johanna Meijer Leglise. My Oma was born in Brussels Belguim near the famous fountain Mannekin P*s. I have been to Brussels and was overjoyed to have my photo in front of this fountain also. My great Opa Berghuis was sent to Brussels from the Netherlands to paint frescos on the churches there...he was a talented artist which has been passed down to me. I would love to hear peoples stories on what makes you...you.

One of the first tips I give people in starting their family tree is to go and have those chat to those elderly aunts, uncles, grandparents...go through their photo albums and let them tell their stories....record it or write it down....and then go back with more visits....the stories you will unearth is amazing. E.g. I visited my great aunty in holland a few years back. First time she was 94 years old, second time 98....it was the second visit she told me my great grandfather was sent to Belgium to paint frescos on the walls of a church in Brussels. I knew he was an artist...but my expression was...what the !!!. I love art and knew a lot of people have artistic abilities in the family but painting the interior of a church....i have since found census records which states his profession is as a artist....luckily I visited my aunty....asked more question, she passed away 3 months later.

I have always been fascinated by what makes me me...being an old librarian I started researching me and found out why I love art, music and like living outside of the square. I thank my ancestors for making me me. Fast forward 15 years I have now done countless trees for friends and family. I am now offering my services to anyone interested in their story. Cost is $450...this includes set up of a family tree on the free family tree site, printed out certificates all wrapped in folder.
