This Marvelous March, Bradley will be working on his nail biting habit, and reducing overall stress (ie, the trigger).
Nail biting is a common, often unconscious, body-focused repetitive behaviour (BFRB) driven by stress, anxiety, or boredom. It acts as a coping mechanism or self-soothing habit to manage emotional tension, frequently occurring during high-stress situations. It’s also pretty disgusting… Breaking the habit involves identifying triggers and replacing the action with alternatives like fidget toys.
