Before you correct your pets behavior, try this exercise....
check your breathing.

If you are rushed, frustrated or tense, they feel it instantly.
Try this simple 60-second reset:
1. Stand or sit near your pet.
2. Inhale slowly through your nose for 4 counts.
3. Exhale slowly through your mouth for 6 counts.
4. Soften your shoulders.
5. Lower your voice.
Notice what shifts in them.
Often, you’ll see:
• A sigh
• A softer gaze
• A lie down
• A shake off
Your nervous system sets the tone of your home.
Regulation is leadership.

In tune with this months theme around be a conscious pet parent.
Easter can be joyful and full — family gatherings, visitors, children, noise, food, movement.
But for our animals, it can feel overwhelming.
More people in their space.
Different energy in the home.
Disrupted routines.
And of course — chocolate within reach (which is toxic to dogs).
If your pet seems unsettled this weekend, it may not be “bad behavior.”
It may simply be a nervous system under pressure.
Before guests arrive, try this:
🐶 Create a quiet retreat space with bedding and water
🐱 Keep chocolate safely stored away
🐮 Allow your pet to choose interaction — don’t force greetings
🪿 Lower your tone and slow your movements
🐭 Take 3 calm breaths before responding to behavior
A regulated pet begins with a regulated human.
