The “Stately Tree” coffin ⚰️ is a perfect choice for someone who is a bush walker or loves nature. Topping off the coffin with a native floral 💐 arrangement , some personal items (shoes, hat, photos, etc) adds an additional unique touch.

When considering burial 🪦, it’s worth considering how often your loved one will be visited .
💐
I’ve only been able to visit three times since my father passed in 1997, but of course the distance from Australia 🇦🇺 to Texas isn’t exactly around the corner 😳🤷🏻‍♀️.

I do feel very sentimental when I have visited and of course putting some new plastic flowers is a must !!!

Many years ago I saw a photo of this sculpture and have always wanted to visit . And yes 🙌 today was the day.

The statue of the Angel of Grief was created by the American sculptor William Wetmore Story (1819-95) for the grave of his wife Emelyn, who died in 1894, and is buried in the 'Protestant' Cemetery in Rome. The full title of the work is The Angel of Grief Weeping Over the Dismantled Altar of Life.

Story, who was devastated by his wife's death, described the sculpture: 'It represents the angel of Grief, in utter abandonment, throwing herself with drooping wings and hidden face over a funeral altar. It represents what I feel. It represents prostration. Yet to do it helps me.' 

A year later, in 1895, Story, who had lived and worked in the Eternal City for more than 40 years, died and was buried with his wife.
