- Extra training required – Practitioners must meet stricter education and experience standards.
- Mandatory mental health screening – Including checks for Body Dysmorphic Disorder, with referrals where needed.
- Advertising restrictions – No targeting under-18s, no testimonials or influencer promotions, and no altered/filtered before-after images.
- cooling-off periods – Under-18s must wait 7 days before treatment after consultation.
- Safety first – Procedures must be performed in appropriate, well-equipped facilities.
