So , no extra maternity beds for Werribee which is at capacity , and no extra inpatient beds to move patients into, to free up cubicles in ED. Good to hear that they fund extra staff for the bigger ED

An amazing evening for Westies last night as the West Party officially launched our Upper House candidates Dr Joe Garra and Sahana Ramesh.

Our message is clear - the West is done being overlooked and taken for granted.

We are also done being spoken for by people who don’t even live here.

Westies want a party that understands them, stands with them, and fights for outcomes that actually matter.

Because the West doesn’t belong to the left or the right.

It belongs to the people who live here.

A great result, we now have a much more level playing field!!

The High Court has just ruled that Victoria’s controversial donations laws are “unconstitutional’.

The case was brought by Paul Hopper from the West Party and 2022 Independent candidate Melissa Lowe because the “unconstitutional laws” favoured the major parties by unfairly capped donations to minor parties, such as the West Party, and independents.

"All Australian voters want, is a level playing field,” Paul Hopper said.

"The High Court has recognised that the two major parties have ben rigging the system to stop new parties and independents. Thanks to this verdict, the days of major parties rigging elections to serve themselves are over.”

The West Party will always fight for what’s right.

The Government has brought forward the time to register a new party. We really need to register The West Party by the end of April. This is PROOF that State Labor does not care about Westies.

Congestion on the Western Freeway is unacceptable and dangerous.

A year ago, the Federal Government offered a billion dollars to help fix the problems.

But a year later, State Labor still hasn’t done the paperwork needed to access the $1 billion.

It’s unbelievable negligence.

Westies deserve a political party that genuinely cares about them.
