How Can a Physiotherapist Help with Ankle Sprains?
An ankle sprain injury is the most common type of foot injury that affects the athletic as well as general population. In the athletic population, ankle sprain can happen when an athlete attempts to jump & twists the ankle while landing
This tends to be common in sports such as AFL, soccer, basketball, netball where there is running &/or change of direction involved. Ankle sprains can account for a significant time away from training or playing the sport.
To help achieve your goals we can provide Running Assessments and Rehabilitation.
Whatever stage of running you are at (you may be a beginner runner or recreational runner or elite runner), a detailed running assessment with our physiotherapists can be a great starting point to test for any postural, biomechanical or musculoskeletal dysfunctions that may be negatively impacting your running or exposing you to injuries.
To fracture or break a bone is a common injury throughout childhood and adult life, yet most of these fractures heal without problems. The rate of fracture increases with age and is greater in women than in men. The majority of fractures will be treated with a cast, splint or minimal intervention to immobilise (keep the fracture still) the fracture for comfort and to protect it while it heals. A smaller number may require a procedure to put the broken bone into the correct position so it heals correctly.
He has experience with a number of treatment modalities including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic therapy. His therapeutic style is collaborative and focuses on the individual needs of his clients as he understands that no two people are the same.
We have all heard it time & again that physical exercises & activity is very important for our elderlies. We have also often heard that it is important that older adults should make exercises a part of their routine.
