Feeding sessions, whether they are short or long, can potentially leave your neck, shoulders, and upper back feeling tight. Sometimes, a few small changes are all you need to make a big difference!
Our therapists gathered some quick tips to help breastfeeding mums:
1️⃣ Spend time setting up your feeding position: experiment with sitting with support for your lower back and keep shoulders relaxed.
2️⃣ Movement breaks: try gentle neck exercises or doorway chest stretches.
3️⃣ Alternate different feeding positions and sides to avoid just favouring one.
If pain, discomfort and/or tightness lingers, or if you have any questions, our Physiotherapists and Massage Therapists are here to help.
This World Breastfeeding Week, don’t forget to care for you, too.
