Capecare

Capecare Capecare is a not-for-profit aged care provider recognised as a leader in the South West. We employ more than 260 staff and are assisted by over 60 volunteers.

We provide in-home care, respite, residential, independent living and allied health care services. Capecare is the largest regional-based independent aged care provider in WA. The organisation has grown significantly over the past 64 years whilst still providing personal attentive care. Our Busselton base has expanded from a 32-bed aged care hostel to a facility encompassing 50 independent living units, a Social Centre, Respite accommodation, Allied Health gym and residential care for up to 118 patients. Capecare now has a second fully integrated, purpose built aged care facility in Dunsborough, the first of its kind in the town. It features an 80-bed residential care facility and 21 independent living apartments and the headquarters of Dunsborough CWA branch. Both facilities are located in enviable beachside locations, and we also provide services in the community, delivering in-home care across the Capes. We continue to build on our history, experience and expertise to provide some of the most modern and forward-thinking aged care services available and strive to be the south west’s aged care provider and employer of choice. Capecare is a not-for-profit independent and incorporated entity and all funds generated remain within the organisation.

A little pampering can go a long way 💇‍♀️☺️

Moving to Capecare in Busselton or Dunsborough in independent living or residential care doesn’t mean giving up the simple pleasures, like a regular cut, blow-dry or colour.

With on-site salons at both locations, our wonderful local hairdresser Chris has been helping Capecare residents look and feel their best for the past four years. With more than 40 years of hairdressing experience, Chris treats a regular list of residents by appointment and genuinely loves what she does.

“I’ve always loved working with older clients in aged care homes,” Chris says. “They’re lovely people, and everyone deserves the chance to be pampered and made to feel special.”

Feeling good never goes out of style 💙

Capecare and Busselton Bowling Club have much in common - we're both long-time community members (us 65 years, BBC for 122!), both strive to bring people together, make them welcome, connected and valued, and we both believe in healthy ageing.

By providing community outreach services like home care and our Social Centre, we hope our clients will continue to do the things they love, like playing bowls, for longer.

Capecare has been a sponsor of the Club for almost a year and on Friday we had the opportunity to support their Welcome Pairs event which saw 88 players from across the state competing. Our CEO Tim Nayton presented the winning prizes at the end of a great day of bowls action, It was a close competition - the winners weren't decided til the last couple of ends.

Congrats to the Club, organisers, bowlers and greenkeepers for a terrific event.

🌿 Behind our beautiful gardens 🌿

From rose beds and native plantings to walking paths and lawns, Capecare’s gardening and maintenance teams work hard every day to keep our spaces looking their best for residents, families and staff, always with a smile, even on the hottest days! ☀️

Pictured are Shannan (in the cart) and Sarah (pushing the mower) our Busselton groundskeepers, and Jack, our maintenance gun. We managed to capture them in a rare seated moment at our staff Christmas morning tea.

We’re recruiting!
Love working both indoors and outdoors and making a difference? We're currently recruiting for Maintenance Officers. Visit Seek for details.

Amid the daily busy-ness of Capecare life, we managed to take a quick break for staff Christmas morning tea celebrations at Dunsborough and Busselton to celebrate the festive season and reflect on a huge year. Thank you to our amazing Capecare team for everything you do, and particular gratitude for those working over the Christmas holidays to ensure our residents and community clients are provided with the best possible care. 🙏🦸🎄

Christmas came early at Capecare for our Busselton and Dunsborough residents! Special Christmas lunches were held at both facilities and family members were invited to join in the fun.

Our lunches were truly festive occasions with traditional and modern Christmas selections across entree, main and dessert, lovingly prepared and served by our team, and finishing with a personal gift for each resident from staff members.

Wishing all of our residents, families and friends a special Christmastime. 🎄🎅🎁

Thank you Abby Murray Photography for the beautiful captures.

Capecare Busselton is the first regional WA location for the WA Government Time To Think program, freeing up local hospital beds and creating time for older community members to plan their next stages of care. We’re proud to be involved as a long time not-for-profit independent community care provider.

What a cool community we have. Meet Graham, owner of Bike Shed Dunsborough in Clark Street. Despite it being one of his busiest times of the year, Graham took the time to give our special 6-speed 24" Gomier Tricycle a free complete service, adjusting brakes and gears so it's all ready for a new owner. He's also added some street cred!

This shiny red tricycle could be yours for Christmas. Raffle tickets are available until the prize draw on Monday (22 December). Funds raised will go towards the purchase of a trishaw bike for our Dunsborough residents.

Purchase tickets and find out more in the link.

We could all do with a bit of good cheer right now.

It feels like the right time to share a heart-warming visit by the Pre Primary Class of Our Lady of the Cape Primary School Dunsborough to Capecare residents last week. Here's a few snippets of their glorious performance. Thanks so much for making the effort and spreading Christmas cheer, we so love your visits!

Warning: Our feed will be filled with festive cheer over the next 2 weeks so buckle up! This week our Busselton and Dunsborough residents were each treated to beautiful concert performance by Voices of the Vasse - a local A Ca****la Sweet Adeline Chorus, along with a lovely morning tea by our hospitality team. Here's a little snippet to get your Christmas toes tapping. Thank you wonderful ladies for bringing joy to our residents.

Capecare's volunteers gathered last Friday for a delightful lunch to celebrate Christmas together and to recognise their contribution, compassion and commitment to our organisation.

The work of our volunteers strengthens dignity, wellbeing and connection for our residents in Busselton and Dunsborough.

Importantly, Capecare Volunteers also have a meaningful impact on our staff. We see them in action each day providing support.

Also celebrated at lunch was our wonderful volunteer coordinator Haley who will sadly be leaving us soon to spend more time with her family. Thank you Haley for your dedication and leadership and best wishes for Christmas to our 70+ volunteers.

Today is International Volunteer Day. It's a wonderful reminder to pause and celebrate the selfless people who enrich our community.
At Capecare, we marked the occasion with a combined Christmas and Volunteer Day luncheon to honour our incredible volunteers.

Photos are on the way, but here’s a short video of CEO Tim Nayton expressing his heartfelt appreciation for our volunteer team before everyone enjoyed a delicious lunch at Palmers Winery.
Thank you to all our volunteers - we simply couldn’t do what we do without you. 💙
