International Women’s Day 2025 -

It takes a village, and it’s a committed, empathetic, kind, compassionate and dedicated village we build around us at Staying In Place Busselton. 🤗

Together with the wider Staying In Place network growing rapidly around Western Australia we celebrate women in every way, shape and form today and every day. 💐

Women make up the majority of the workforce for aged care services and often the care of their older loved ones. We see you, and salute you! 💕

Staying In Place Busselton is grateful to both Sisters of Charity Foundation and Busselton Hospice Care Incorporated for their ongoing support.

Every bit helps, and grants like these allow us to focus closer on those we already support, grow our capacity to help those who want to remain in their homes, and in turn support our wider community.

We thank each and every person who has entrusted us with their care, supported us in a myriad of ways, and continues to help us grow to be the change that Aged Care home support needs.

🌱Supporting Life Lived Well 🌱

We’re thrilled to announce the 83 life-changing community projects to receive funding as part of our latest grant round, like:

• The Social Outfit is a fashion label that helps kick-start the Australian careers of refugee women. The social enterprise will use its grant to help run its Community Sewing Program. “The key focus is for the women to build connections in Sydney and eradicate isolation and loneliness,” says Beverley from The Social Outfit. “We hear from many of our trainees that attending our sewing classes was the first time they ventured outside their neighbourhood, the first time they had spoken to someone outside of their ethnic group. For some it was the first time they had actually left the house.”

• Eyes of Hope provides free eye care and glasses to homeless and vulnerable populations in NSW. The charity will use its grant to help operate mobile clinics that visit community centres and shelters, ensuring that financial or geographic barriers do not prevent access to vision care.

• In Australia, more than 116,000 people are homeless on any given night. The Good Box provides essential resources with dignity to people experiencing homelessness, focusing on at-risk youth, First Nations people, and survivors of domestic violence. The grant will help the organisation deliver beautifully packaged boxes filled with high-quality essential items, such as food and hygiene products.

For the full list of successful Community Grants Program recipients and their project/program names, please see link in comments.

The next grant round will open on 1 July and close on 31 July 2025.

Pingelly is more than a Wheatbelt town in Western Australia - it’s the inspiration for a Staying in Place model that is connecting and empowering thousands of older people in regional Western Australia. The model evolved from a group of local people getting together to solve the problem of older r...

Ageing boomers, a nursing shortage, and a federal capital works system labelled as a "lottery" are forcing some older residents to separate from their families, some regional aged care providers say.

Did you know that registering as an Independent home contractor on Mable means you can work all around Australia? 🇦🇺
Broome Community Resource Centre are seeking a variety of support workers in their area - maybe you’re planning a few months up North when the school holidays are over?

Mable is Australia wide - work when you want, where you want. ☺️

🌱Supporting Life Lived Well🌱

Broome Community Resource Centre (a registered charity) is starting an aged care service to link elderly people who have Home Care Packages with workers who can support them to live comfortably at home. It’s called Staying in Place.
We want workers willing to help elderly people with cleaning, gardening, transport and more. Workers sign up as independent contractors to the Mable platform, and can choose their own hours, type of work, and rates of pay.
If you are interested, check out our website or email sip@broomecrc.org.au for more information.
