☀ Members of CheckUP’s outreach team attended the 'Are You Remotely Interested?' Conference in Mt Isa last week. This was a great opportunity to learn about new initiatives in rural and remote health, including research projects, collaborations, and innovations in health practice. Attracting and sustaining the rural and remote health workforce was also an area of focus.

🙌 It was also wonderful to network and catch up with CheckUP partners and supporters, including Dr Geoff Clark (RFDS), Dr Michael Clements (Fairfield Medical), and Anne-Marie Donovan (Cancer Council Queensland).

☀ Thank you to Murtupuni Centre for Rural & Remote Health and JCU for hosting such a fantastic event.

A big shout-out to audiologist Clarissa from Darling Downs Audiology – one of our newest CheckUP outreach providers – who will be a guest panelist at the 'Careers in Rural Health Night' in Brisbane tomorrow night!
It is so important for students to hear these real-world experiences, and we're thrilled to see the field of audiology represented on the panel.

Visit the Darling Downs Audiology website - https://darlingdownsaudiology.com.au/

Exciting news! 🎉

I’ve been invited to be a guest panelist for a Careers in Rural Health event this Friday night at The Mix Bar in Brisbane!

I’ll be chatting with uni students about what it’s like working in rural health, sharing my journey, and hopefully inspiring the next wave of passionate healthcare professionals to consider taking their skills to the bush 🌾👩‍⚕️👂

It’s such an honour to represent rural health—and I’m thrilled to help shine a light on the rewarding (and sometimes unexpected!) paths it can offer.

See you there if you're coming along! 💬🍹

🖤❤️💛 CheckUP celebrates NAIDOC Week at Musgrave Park 🖤❤️💛

The CheckUP team was proud to join the vibrant celebrations at the annual Musgrave Park Family Fun Day for NAIDOC Week. This year's theme, "The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy," resonated deeply as we immersed ourselves in the lively atmosphere of community and culture.

The park was filled with the sounds of live music and the sights of traditional dance, alongside numerous stalls offering everything from arts and crafts to delicious food.

It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with the community and celebrate the rich history and enduring culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
