Community Access Programs Their vision was to provide supported employment for people living with disabilities. Lasercraft’s aim was to provide workplace training and support. Our goal was to enrich the lives of people with disabilities. We do this by offering meaningful, personally rewarding, paid employment opportunities. Today, Lasercraft is proud to have trained and supported hundreds of people living with disabilities. We have made a genuine difference in their lives and the lives of their families. Through training and the use of the latest technology our supported employees are able to manufacture quality corporate recognition awards, plaques, and business products throughout Australia and New Zealand. Packing and Assembly services are offered as well as survey peg manufacturing from Australian hardwood. What We Offer
Our Disability Services day program activities have a strong focus on community participation and independent living skills training. Participants choose how many days they attend each week and are involved in life skills development activities such as cooking, shopping, sports, photography, and technology. There are also regular day trips for activities that are appropriate to the individual’s level of disability and goals. Other day options models we offer also cater for people with high support needs. This includes participants who use wheelchairs and we provide additional support for their medical and personal care needs. Our community access program is aimed at developing independence, social skills, a healthy lifestyle, and creativity. Handcrafted for Christmas, Straight from the Heart

If Christmas had a workshop on the Central Coast, it would look suspiciously like Lasercraft on a Saturday morning. The teams have been mixing, sanding, stirring, polishing and generally performing small miracles to bring this year’s Handcrafted Christmas Market to life.

You’ll find bath products that smell like you’ve finally cleaned the house, timber keepsakes crafted with the kind of care that makes them instant favourites, garden goodies grown with pride, and all the festive bits and bobs that make a stocking feel properly stuffed. Add a sausage sizzle, a few laughs and a hall full of locals, and you’ve got yourself the kind of market that would make even Santa nod in approval.

So wander in, say g’day to the crew, and take home something made with skill, heart and a fair bit of good humour. Christmas shopping doesn’t get more local than this.

🦘 Blackbutt Reserve Adventure Recap

We started the day at Lasercraft, buzzing about what animals we might see and who would be brave enough to touch one. Once everyone arrived, we boarded the bus and headed off.

The first surprise came as soon as we arrived. A very confident peacock wandered past like it owned the park. Photos were taken, the group was laughing, and the day was off to a memorable start.

Then came our private Critter Encounter!
We met a stick insect up close, complete with nervous giggles and one unexpected wee on the wildlife handler. After a few more creatures, the star arrived. A three meter python 🐍 Every participant touched it or held it, proving that courage comes in many forms. Some stood completely still, like an emu that thinks if it does not move, no one will notice 👀

After the reptiles we met a koala 🐨 on the boardwalk. He blinked at us with the same expression as someone three hours into a Zoom meeting.
Impressed? Unlikely. Photogenic? Absolutely.

We finished with a picnic under the trees. Plenty of food, stories and laughter, and the kind of relaxed afternoon that turns a trip into a memory.
We came home with stronger friendships, great photos and at least five new snake stories that will get slightly bigger every time we tell them 😂

Frame by Frame: The Glen Chronicles

There’s quiet achievement, and then there’s Glen

While most of us are halfway through our morning coffee, Glen’s already shaping another flag frame. Each one is crafted from New Guinea Rosewood and Tasmanian Myrtle, two timbers as beautiful as they are stubborn. All 110 of them!

Every frame goes through three grades of sanding and two coats of lacquer, finished to perfection until it gleams like it’s ready for the Governor-General’s office. And Glen’s done the lot, solo, while also keeping an eye on supported employees at the machines and juggling transport runs 🚌

But it’s not just the work that makes Glen special.......it’s the way he goes about everything. Calm, easy-going, and quick-witted.
He’s one of those rare people who can find common ground with everyone, bringing a quiet calm when things get hectic, and a dry one-liner just when it’s needed most.

If karma really does keep score, Glen’s got a future lined up with the Gods. Glen, you’ve set the bar high!
You haven’t just built frames... you’ve built pride, patience, and purpose, one masterpiece at a time 🌟

Before the heat sets in and the sunscreen emojis start multiplying, a gentle reminder to all our participants. The Summer Program is ready, the adventures are lined up, and all we need now is your choice sheet back.

Think of it as choosing your own summer storyline. Will it be thrill rides, cool outings, creative workshops, or something that involves snacks and shade? Whatever you’re keen for, make sure your picks are in by 14 November 2025 so we can lock everything in and keep the LC summer rolling smoothly.

Your choices shape the program and help us plan transport, staffing and all the behind-the-scenes magic that makes each outing work. In short, it lets us do the job well and keeps the days fun.

So dust off the pen, flip through the program and send your preferences in. Summer waits for no one and the LC crew is ready to make it a good one.

🎢 Luna Park Unleashed!
The Weekend Community Access crew stormed Luna Park on Saturday, leaving a trail of laughter, snacks, and mild motion sickness in their wake.

Three fully loaded vehicles rolled out from Lasercraft at 9am, engines humming and spirits high. By sheer luck (or divine parking intervention), both buses scored front-row spots while the third parked neatly under the big Coat Hanger.

The sky threatened rain, but we had LC luck on our side. Shah braved the Rotor once and declared it a near-death experience. Dave and Josh turned the Tango Train into a high-speed sandwich, proving that physics hurts. Josh somehow climbed to the Flying Chairs afterwards, possibly still spinning. Max bought a helicopter hat that could probably qualify as a small aircraft.

Skye took the crown on the Joy Wheel in Coney Island, holding center stage over a staff-versus-participants showdown that looked more like medieval jousting. Amanda faced her first rollercoaster with bravery and only minor screaming.

Lunch was a festival of nachos, fish and chips, and ice cream. The rain showed up right on cue while everyone was undercover, then left politely as soon as the forks went down.

By the time the buses rolled back into Lasercraft just before 5pm. The day had everything, laughter, a few nervous screams, too many photos, and the kind of teamwork that only comes from surviving a rollercoaster together. There were new friendships, shared snacks, and endless retellings of “that time on the Rotor.” Every single person had a blast, and the ride home was filled with stories louder than the engine. It was one of those days that reminds you why getting out with good company is the best adventure of all.

Queues were short, laughs were long, and memories were taller than the Ferris wheel. Another LC adventure success.
