Our goal was to enrich the lives of people with disabilities. We do this by offering meaningful, personally rewarding, paid employment opportunities. Today, Lasercraft is proud to have trained and supported hundreds of people living with disabilities. We have made a genuine difference in their lives and the lives of their families. Through training and the use of the latest technology our supported employees are able to manufacture quality corporate recognition awards, plaques, and business products throughout Australia and New Zealand. Packing and Assembly services are offered as well as survey peg manufacturing from Australian hardwood. What We Offer
Our Disability Services day program activities have a strong focus on community participation and independent living skills training. Participants choose how many days they attend each week and are involved in life skills development activities such as cooking, shopping, sports, photography, and technology. There are also regular day trips for activities that are appropriate to the individual’s level of disability and goals. Other day options models we offer also cater for people with high support needs. This includes participants who use wheelchairs and we provide additional support for their medical and personal care needs. Easter’s rolled in… chocolate’s been spotted… self-control is under review.
Wishing our Lasercraft community a safe, happy and well-earned break. Take it slow, enjoy the moments and maybe share the eggs.
We’ll be back Tuesday, refreshed, recharged and ready to go again.

Employee of the Month… Skye
Some people do their job well…
Skye does hers and then quietly makes sure everyone else is okay too.
From the Hospitality team to Personal Care, she shows up with energy, patience and a genuine care for the people around her. The kind of person who notices if someone’s gone a bit quiet… and does something about it.
Once a month, you’ll find Skye at the “oval table in the situation room”… not plotting world domination but doing something just as important. Representing her colleagues at the Board meetings. Speaking up. Passing on ideas, concerns and direction from the people she works alongside every day.
Just steady leadership with Skye.
She doesn’t let people fall between the cracks… she closes them.
Supportive, enthusiastic and always in it for the team… Skye is everything this place stands for.
Well deserved.

Five Hours, Two Feet, One Wild Plan.
Our Weekend Community Access crew pointed the Lasercraft bus toward Taronga Zoo at 10:30am sharp… and didn’t waste a minute.
By the time the wheels hit the road, the strategy meeting was already underway. What to see first, what might be sacrificed, and how to conquer a very big day with only two feet each. Exotic animals took top billing, naturally. Barnyard… well… it sat nervously on the “maybe” list.
African and Asian animals were locked in early. The lion keeper talk delivered the goods… a power couple of lions, plus their bundles of chaos, the cubs, stealing the show. Cameras out, smiles wider.
Somewhere along the trail, a meerkat stole a different kind of spotlight. This little operator had dug himself what can only be described as a custom recliner… perched up, relaxed, watching the steady stream of humans roll past like it was his daily show. No tickets required… we were the entertainment. Fair to say, he had the best seat in the house.
Then came the seals. Equal parts comedy and cuteness. Baby seals doing what baby seals do best… winning hearts and getting laughs without even trying.
Just when the legs thought they’d settled into a rhythm, the bird show lifted the tempo. Birds of prey slicing through the air, right over the LC crew’s heads, landing with precision on the hands of brave volunteers. A few heads ducked… a few pulses spiked… all part of the experience.
Midway through, the crew made a tactical stop at the eatery… burgers, chips and nuggets did exactly what they were hired to do. Refuel, reset, and send everyone back out ready for round two.
And with the cable car now officially retired, that bus-side planning session proved its worth. No shortcuts, no coasting… just good old-fashioned teamwork and a shared game plan.
Five hours of walking later, the verdict was unanimous… big day, bigger effort and well worth every step.

When the tools tap out, but the team doesn’t…
Our Lasercraft gardening crew has been quietly doing something pretty special.
Out in the community, helping elderly and vulnerable locals keep their gardens tidy, safe and something to be proud of…
Sometimes completely free, sometimes at a very affordable rate… always with care at the centre of it all.
The only problem…
They’ve worked so hard, they’ve officially sent two battery whipper snippers into early retirement.
Turns out goodwill is powerful. Not quite as powerful as thick grass.
So now we’re on the hunt.
We’re looking to source a reliable, hard-working whipper snipper that can keep up with a team that doesn’t know how to slow down.
If you’ve got:
• A quality machine gathering dust
• A connection to a great deal
• Or a business who’d like to back a genuine community effort
We’d love to hear from you.
It’s about helping people stay comfortable in their homes, maintaining dignity, and making sure no one feels left behind… one overgrown edge at a time.

Eight participants. Three legends in support. One destination… Mingara.
The day kicked off at the pools. Whirlpool first. A gentle entry, or so we thought. Reports say there were dolphins spotted… turns out it was our crew finding their rhythm.
Then came the 50m pool. Brisk. Refreshing. Character-building. The brave took the plunge and earned every degree of that temperature drop.
By lunchtime, energy levels were low… expectations were high.
Enter the Dragon... Ming Dragon to be precise.
Now, when we say banquet… we mean banquet. Plates and bowls kept coming. Then more. Then “surely that’s it”… followed by another round. It felt less like lunch and more like an Emperor's feast, fit for a dynasty. Containers were deployed. Doggie bags became essential equipment.
Dessert? Ice cream, with enough toppings to keep decisions difficult and smiles easy.
Special mentions:
Ray, handling chopsticks like a Grandmaster ninja… precise, efficient, unstoppable.
Lachlan, giving it a crack… before wisely siding with the spork.
A brilliant day all round. Plenty of laughs. Full bellies. Tired legs.
And a big thank you from the participants to Karley, Katie and Lachlan… for making it all happen.

The Weekday Community Access crew took to the court at Lake Haven… and things escalated quickly.
It started as a friendly run. A few passes. A few polite shots.
Then Dave arrived.
Dave… the man, the myth, the groin strain.
Somewhere between the first whistle and a very optimistic sprint, he decided it was time to wind the clock back. Out came the old school crossovers. A shimmy here. A step there. A reach for the backboard that belonged to another decade… and nearly still does.
The teams lifted. Voices got louder. Defence got tighter. Suddenly this wasn’t a casual shootaround… this was competition with a capital C.
Shots were contested. Pride was on the line. Bragging rights very much up for grabs.
In the end… no one really kept score.

Saturday had a plan.
A very respectable Central Coast plan.
First stop… a swim at Grant McBride Baths.
Sun out with nice bit of cloud cover. Water sparkling. A perfect way to start the day.
Next stop… lunch along the The Entrance Corso.
Fish and chips won the vote. A seaside classic. Although nearby festival stalls were cooking vindaloo that looked capable of removing paint off the Ferris wheel. Easily an 11 out of 10 on the heat scale.
Bellies full. Energy restored.
Then… the unexpected highlight.
Just across the way at Memorial Park the crew wandered straight into the Holi Festival hosted by The Hindu Temple Central Coast Inc..
Music pumping.
Dancing circles forming.
And coloured powder flying through the air like a confetti cannon with a gym membership.
Enter Karly… clearly the ring leader of fun for the day. She secured bags of coloured powder and from that moment on the rules were simple.
If you were within throwing distance… you were fair game.
Zali and Alex jumped into the dance circles.
The rest of the crew mastered the ancient Holi skill of colourful sneak attacks.
By the end of it everyone looked like they’d fallen headfirst into a rainbow… and loved every minute of it.
Swimming.
Fish and chips.
Dancing.
And being pelted with coloured powder by your friends.
Not a bad Saturday on the Coast.

Meet Katie. New to the team… already part of the furniture in the best possible way.
Katie has been getting a real tour of Lasercraft life. Personal care team… hospitality team… Factory A contract work… and out in the community with our Community Access crew. If there is a job that needs doing, Katie is usually the one putting her hand up first.
Ask her what she likes most about working here and the answer is simple. The people. Happy faces everywhere. A team that looks out for each other. The kind of workplace where good energy travels fast.
Outside of work she’s flying the flag for the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles. Weekends usually involve bike rides or a swim… depending on how warm the water is.
Her favourite movie is Click. If you remember the scene where Adam Sandler stands on the boss’s desk ( if you know you know) … you’ll know the exact kind of humour we’re dealing with. Look out Peter if Katie has herself a mischievous remote!
Pink and purple are the colours of choice. Beluga whales sit at the top of the favourite animal list… so much so that next year Katie is heading to Japan to see them in person.
New role. Big smile. Great team spirit.
Welcome to the Lasercraft crew, Katie.

Some people chase the spotlight. Nicole prefers to stand just beside it.
Congratulations to Nicole. Our Employee of the Month for February 2026.
Nicole is one of those quietly reliable team members who will give just about any job a go. Factory A has seen plenty of that spirit lately. Nicole working hard across contract work. Tackling each task with her usual positive attitude.
She is known for her happy nature. Always willing to pitch in wherever needed. No fuss. No fanfare. Just steady effort with a smile.
Fame is not really Nicole’s thing. As you can probably see in the photo she has cleverly used her award as a shield from the camera lens. A classic Nicole move. Shy. Humble. Much happier getting on with the job than standing in the spotlight.
This month’s award was an easy one. Every staff member voted for Nicole. A clear sign of the respect she has across the team. She works hard. Gets along with everyone. Brings a positive energy to the workplace.
Well deserved Nicole.

The blues rolled into town and so did we.
The 8th Annual Girrakool Blues Festival lit up Memorial Park at The Entrance and our Community Access crew were front row for the rhythm and the sunshine. Three days of music, sea breeze and good company… hard to argue with that combination.
From the big stage sounds of Joe Camilleri & the Black Sorrows to the grit of Kenny Brown and the slide mastery of Dave Hole, the backbeat did its job. It found our feet.
There were air guitars. There were imaginary drum solos. Had I known instruments were optional but enthusiasm compulsory, I would have packed the air saxophone. Next year, I'll come prepared.
Alex, Emmanuel, Katie and Karley owned the dance patch. Front beat, backbeat… every beat. The weather behaved itself, the stalls were buzzing, and lunch from Jumbo's Seafood sealed the deal with a proper seaside feast.
Good music. Good mates. Good times.
That’s what community looks like when you turn the volume up.

Chef’s Choice Friday has become something of a culinary parliament. Motions are raised. Aprons are tied. And occasionally history is made.
Last week’s headline act… vegetable couscous. A dish so virtuous it practically arrived with its own yoga mat. If the body is a temple, this was the kind of offering that keeps the pillars standing. Colourful, nourishing and proof that healthy eating need not taste like regret.
Enter Meg. New to staff member to the team, steady of hand, fearless with a chopping board. She stepped into the Chef’s Choice arena and delivered. By the final mouthful she had earned herself a title that will follow her for some time… Couscous Queen.
After her first shift, the red carpet was metaphorically unfurled and she was invited to join the Friday team indefinitely.
More importantly, the afternoon was rich in more than flavour. New skills were learned. Tips were traded. Confidence simmered nicely alongside the couscous. Knowledge was shared freely, proving once again that the best kitchens like the best communities run on generosity.
Chef’s Choice Friday is not just about what’s on the plate. It is about teamwork, growth, laughter and the quiet magic that happens when people are given space to try, learn and shine.
