Katy at Skills for Living Occupational Therapy works with children, young people and their families to develop the skills necessary for living.

I (Katy) started Skills for Living Occupational Therapy in 2019 after 15 years working in the public and not-for-profit sectors in Australia, the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland. I have worked predominantly with children and young people with disabilities and their families in that time. I am committed to working with you and your child on developing the skills necessary for living their best life. I can help with:
-fine, gross and visual motor skills
-self care, self regulation and organisation skills
-sensory processing/managing sensory differences
-play and social skills
-attention, concentration and school readiness
-equipment prescription

It's been hard over the last week with the NDIS price guide showing how it values (or doesn't value) allied health therapists and our time.
I thought this was a good visual to highlight everything that goes on behind the scenes. We work hard, it's not just the face to face time!

A fabulous day of PD, learning about Collaborative and Proactive Solutions from Dr Ross Greene. We know that ‘Kids do well if they can’, they are not being manipulative, attention seeking, or coercive. Some great strategies for collaborating with kids to develop a solution.
