Pharmacists already do a great job helping people in the community.

They’re there when West Aussies need them most – whether it’s filling a script or helping with small injuries.

But we know, with the right training and support, they can do even more.

That’s why we’re launching the Enhanced Access Community Pharmacy Pilot.

This training program will teach pharmacists how to diagnose and treat common health issues like ear infections, acne and asthma.

By building their skills, we can take pressure off our hospitals and GPs – and give people safe care, closer to home.

It’s a simple and smart way to help more West Aussies get the care they need and make WA the healthiest State in the nation.

💡 Innovation starts with an idea, and the right support to test it.
The J M O’Hara Research Grant helped turn an idea into Australia’s first pharmacy-based vaccine safety system.

That pilot project led to further research, national COVID-19 vaccine safety surveillance and a system that now monitors the safety of all pharmacist-administered vaccines.

This is the impact of WA-led pharmacy research.

PSWA are proud to be sponsoring this important research through the JM O’Hara Research Fund. Now we need the help of rural and remote pharmacists to make it a success.
Are you a pharmacist working in a rural or remote part of WA? Have you heard about the new Aged Care Onsite Pharmacist program? We’d like to hear your thoughts about working in aged care.
Researchers at the Curtin University Medical School are investigating factors that will influence pharmacists participating in the Aged Care Onsite Pharmacist program.
In this study, you’ll complete questions via an online survey about your current working situation, experience and interest in working in aged care, and the existing medication management programs.
The survey will take about 20 minutes of your time, and you will have the opportunity to win one of 5 $100 gift cards.
If you are interested in participating, for more information please visit the following URL https://curtin.au1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_ebtw19kMMEDdikK
