As part of Nurses Week, we'd like to take a moment and send a BIG, HUGE thank you to our amazing Care Managers.

Our Care Managers are like lighthouses in the fog for home care recipients and their families, helping them navigate this increasingly complex system while also providing comfort, wisdom and strength. As Janina says: We are incredibly grateful to have them on our side! 💙

Happy Nurses Week!

This annual celebration of healthcare heroes begins on 6 May and culminates with International Nurses Day on 12 May (which is also Florence Nightingale's birthday 🎂).

Nurses comprise the largest segment of the health workforce in Australia. There are more than 460,000 across the country, and we are grateful for every single one.

Please join us in celebrating nurses today and every day — and thank you, nurses, for everything you do! 💙

This week in news: Starting in October, the government will fully fund personal care services for Support at Home participants, including showering, dressing, and continence support.

What does this mean? A quick breakdown:

• Support at Home services are organised into three categories: Clinical, Independence, and Everyday Living

• To this point, only Clinical services (such as nursing care and physiotherapy) have been fully funded

• Personal care services fall under the Independence category, so until now, participants have been required to make co-payments toward those supports

• This change means Support at Home participants no longer have to contribute toward the cost of personal care services—they will be fully covered by government funding starting in October

The Australian Government has announced it will fully fund personal care for eligible Support at Home participants.
