Julie didn’t touch aerial silks until she was in her 50s.

Now, at 63, she twists, inverts, and soars with the strength and confidence of someone half her age, proving with each graceful maneuver that age shouldn't be a barrier to chasing your dreams.

What are super agers — and how do they become such pillars of healthy ageing? Turns out, it's a science. 🔬

We spoke to Professor Robin Daly, Chair in Exercise and Ageing at Deakin University, to learn more about the key elements of super ageing.

What are super agers? Learn about the habits, strategies, and biological factors that help older adults defy the rules of ageing.

The phone rings.

‘I need you to take me to the hospital…I think I’m having a heart attack.’

It’s a call no one should have to receive, especially from a parent. But that exact situation blindsided Kirrilee recently, forcing her to answer this fundamental question: Who can you trust during a crisis?

Read her family's story: https://www.thecareside.com.au/client-stories/kirrilee-and-laurie/

Struck by crisis, Kirrilee and her family needed home care fast. Fortunately, they were prepared—and got some help, too. Here’s their story.

Ageism Awareness Day is 9 October, but it goes without saying—one day a year isn't enough. No one should ever be discriminated against or discounted based on their age, and stamping out this global prejudice requires all of us to challenge it every moment of every day.

EveryAGE Counts spearheads this initiative. They're a national coalition of organisations committed to ending ageism, and you can learn more about getting involved at the EveryAGE Counts website:

Did someone say...cookies?!

Our Care Managers are always sweet, but they're levelling up by treating care recipients and their families to these freshly baked cookies. Who wants one?? 🙋🏼‍♀️ 🍪

Home care in Australia is in a state of flux, and it’s more important than ever for care recipients to remain proactive about their options. Sometimes, that means transferring services to another provider. But here's the problem:

Many care recipients and their families view switching providers as an extreme measure, even when they know they're not receiving the support they need and deserve. Why is that?

Misconceptions about the process cause them to hesitate. Some common myths include:

• 'I need a reason to change providers'
• 'I will lose my government funding if I change providers'
• 'If I change providers, my current provider will keep all my funds'
• 'Once I notify my current provider that I plan to change, they will stop my care during the notice period'

Not true!

In this guide, we debunk misconceptions about switching providers and break down the most common reasons to transfer care. Have you heard other myths or tall tales about this process? Share them in the comments!
