Special events or classroom parties are fun but they can be overwhelming and difficult to navigate. Here are some tips to prepare for a school day that may not be typical.

Prepare your student for the way the day may look different, consider a social story or visuals.

Talk to your child's teacher about the schedule for the party and make accommodations part of the plan.

Identify any expectations of the students with the teacher and prepare your child.

You don't have to have autism to come to Planting Seeds Learning, ABA services offered here are also recommended for ADHD! Together we can learn how to 'learn to learn' so your child can concentrate on their educational material. And you child can qualify for an IEP that reduces the amount of homework they have to complete. (For example: the 12 page science packet can be reduced to only having to do the top half of each page)

We can all use daily life as a way to teach emotions! AND at Planting Seeds Learning there are some unique and favorite ways to teach kids about emotions. This book is my favorite way to introduce feelings and make them part of a fun conversation.

Curious how to preemptively work on sensory overload with noise, in crowds, in the classroom, lunch room, or recess?
