One of the largest and most trusted kids’ health charities in the country, Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation exists to help provide all children with access to the best possible healthcare, whenever and wherever they need it. We have been delivering on this promise since 1986, raising millions every year for Sydney Children's Hospitals Network - including Sydney's two children’s hospitals at

Randwick and Westmead, specialised care services, and cutting edge paediatric research, operating across NSW. A conduit, an enabler, and a mechanism for powerful change, we make sure funds raised go directly to the front line of children’s healthcare – from the hospital wards to the treatment rooms, the research labs to the outreach programs.

For Dr Prerna Samtani, her fellowship in general medicine at The Children's Hospital at Westmead was a defining stage in her journey to becoming a paediatrician.

Fellowships across the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network are an advanced stage of training, where doctors take on greater responsibility for patient care while continuing to learn from senior specialists.

One of the children Dr Samtani cared for during this time was Lucas.

Lucas was only a few months old when they first met. Born prematurely at 33 weeks, it quickly became clear that he was facing complex medical challenges. He was later diagnosed with severe cerebral palsy resulting from a significant brain abnormality, along with epilepsy.

Children like Lucas often need care from many different specialists, along with nurses and allied health teams. As a General Medicine Fellow, Dr Samtani played a key role in helping coordinate his care during multiple hospital admissions.

With the support of Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation donors, the Fellowship Program continues to enhance the care of children like Lucas.

That's a wrap on Emerald Ball 2026! ✨💚

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who joined us at the ICC on Saturday night. Our incredible community of supporters came together and raised $620,000 to change the future for sick kids and their families.

Funds raised will go to two rehabilitation departments across the Sydney Children's Hospitals Network: Kids Rehab at The Children's Hospital at Westmead and Rehab2Kids at Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick.

These teams provide world-class care for children living with brain injuries, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injuries, limb loss, spina bifida, and complex musculoskeletal conditions.

We couldn't have done it without our Ambassador Tristan MacManus, who brought so much heart to the room as our MC for the night.

And a huge thank you to the sponsors who made it all possible: Hitec Drainage, BYD Auto Australia, EVDealer Group, EML Insurance, Moi Moi Fine Jewellery, Popink, Hawke's Brewing Co., InterContinental, QMS, Sydney Swans, Peter Lehmann Wines, ICC Sydney, Westpac and Lark Distillery.

Thank you for showing up for kids and families across the Network. See you next year. 💚

For young people facing illness and injury, the experience is not just physical. It is emotional and deeply personal.

Sami is one of the dedicated social workers at Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick, supporting children and families through some of the most challenging moments of their lives.

Across the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (SCHN), social workers play a vital role in helping families navigate uncertainty, process what they are going through, and keeping them connected during their hospital journey.

For Khyla, this support made a meaningful difference during her time in hospital, helping her feel heard even in the most difficult moments.

Philanthropy helps make this possible.

Your donation to Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation supports social work roles across SCHN, providing guidance, advocacy and reassurance for children and families when they need it most.

That’s a wrap! Our inaugural Kids Research Showcase was a powerful demonstration of how donor generosity is funding bold ideas and creating meaningful change for kids.

Four leading clinicians, Dr Michelle Lorentzos, Dr Laurel Mimmo, Prof Ian Alexander, and Prof Adam Jaffe, shared how philanthropy is turning frontline insight into innovation and impact for sick kids.

We’d like to thank our incredible clinicians and donor community for coming together to make this event truly special.

If you're interested in attending an event like this and seeing the real impacts of your support, send us a message, and we'll be in touch.

When Khyla was seven, she was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia. After months of treatment, she went into remission and life slowly returned to normal.

Years later, just before her 16th birthday, her family found themselves back at Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick, facing another devastating diagnosis — T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma.

Her treatment was intense, pushing her body to its limits and requiring weeks in the ICU. For her parents, it meant navigating fear, uncertainty, and the reality of going through it all for a second time, while continuing to support their other children at home.

Alongside Khyla’s medical care, the family had the support of a dedicated social worker, Sami. From the moment of diagnosis, they were guided through complex decisions, supported emotionally, and helped to stay connected as a family during the most difficult moments.

For families like Khyla’s, this kind of support is vital. It ensures young people are heard, and parents have someone beside them as they navigate the journey alone.

Your donation supports social work positions across the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network, providing guidance, advocacy, and reassurance when it’s needed most.

May is Brain Cancer Awareness Month. 💜

Brain cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related death in children, and for many families, a diagnosis changes everything overnight.

Bryson was just two and a half when he was diagnosed with a brain tumour the size of a tennis ball, five days before his third birthday. Today, he is 13 and kicking the footy with his brothers.

At the Sydney Children's Hospitals Network, world-class researchers and clinicians are working every day to change outcomes for children like Bryson, developing better treatments and giving kids the best possible chance.

This Brain Cancer Awareness Month, you can help drive that research forward. NRL’s Kick for a Cause campaign is happening right now during Magic Round 2026, raising funds for paediatric cancer centres across Australia and New Zealand.

Every year, more than 1,000 children and teens are diagnosed with cancer. While survival rates have improved, too many families are still facing the unimaginable. That is why NRL Magic Round matters!

Through Kick for a Cause, vital funds will support children's charities and paediatric cancer centres across Australia and New Zealand, helping fund critical research, clinical care and programs that support children and families through every stage of their cancer journey.

Whether you're cheering on your team in the stands, tuning in from home, spreading the word or making a donation, every action counts!

Together, we can create a future free from kids’ cancer. Let’s give kids’ cancer the boot.
