In order to maintain our high level of care, Weston Medical Centre have reviewed our fees. We have determined that we must reduce our level of bulk billing. This change will occur from the 1st September 2024. We will proudly continue to bulk bill children under 16, and those who hold an Aged Pension Concession card. The fee schedule we have been working from falls significantly short of industry standards. This is mainly because of our commitment to support our patients through the transition to private fees that we introduced in 2022. Unfortunately, because of the huge increases in wages, inflation, and the cost of running our clinic, it is not sustainable.
The clinic ask that you understand the reason for these increases. The Medicare rebate was established by the Gorton Government in 1970, and the benefit levels are fixed arbitrarily by the Federal Government. Benefit levels have not kept pace with inflation, widening the gap between reasonable fees and professional expertise, without consideration to the cost of running a practice.
Without the increases, Weston Medical Centre will not be able to continue to support your health with the quality care you need and deserve. The service your Doctor provides is valuable, but it is important that it is also sustainable.
For a period of 4 weeks, Weston Medical Centre will support those who need to transition to alternative care, by transferring your medical records free of charge.

Your peace of mind is paramount to us. If you have any questions or concerns about how this fee adjustment may affect you, please don't hesitate to reach out. We are here to provide you with support and clarity at every step.
