What is Hypnosis? The old myths and misconceptions about hypnosis have given way to proven, scientifically sound applications. Today the use of hypnosis is seen in medicine, dentistry, law enforcement, professional sports, and education. Our minds work on two levels – the conscious and the unconscious. We make decisions, think and act with our conscious mind. The unconscious mind controls our habits. In the relaxed state known as hypnosis, we can communicate directly with the unconscious mind. This is why it is so quick and easy to change habits of a lifetime with hypnosis. NLP, on the other hand, has been called the science of success as it provides many tools for overcoming barriers holding us back in different areas of our lives. It focuses on the study and pursuit of excellence in all endeavours and provides many powerful tools & processes to achieve this. Highly successful people like Oprah, Bill Gates, Tiger Woods & President Obama use it on an everyday basis to stay at the top of their game. Like hypnosis, NLP also works on the unconscious mind and can be used to achieve mindset changes and improvements in a matter of minutes, compared to other techniques, which may take days, weeks or even months. How can they help? As both hypnosis and NLP work at the level of the unconscious mind, which is where learning and change occur, then learning or change can be achieved rapidly with these techniques, compared to other modalities. For example, most phobias can be treated in a matter of minutes using NLP and hypnosis, which might take months to deal with using other techniques and even then, the results may not be as effective. Every month, we share a case study in our newsletter of a client that
has come to see us with a challenge they had and the results they achieved from our programs.

Kristy and Simon came to see me in Jan 2022 for some help with quit smoking. Let’s now finish their story:

After smoking for such a long period of time, both Kristy and Simon were able to quit in a single session. They had the huge advantage that they were both highly motivated to quit and because they were quitting at the same time, they were able to support each other greatly through the process.

A week after their sessions, this is what they had to say re their experiences with our program:

Our time with Ian was such an Amazing experience. Myself and my husband rang Ian in regards to us quitting ci******es after so many years of smoking me and my husband thought it was time to give them away. we reached out to Ian and asked for his help to make us become non smokers forever. Ian was caring and understanding and we both felt completely comfortable. We are both so overwhelmed and amazed that our out come has made us both non smokers and we are totally in control and ready to take this new healthy life of ours.

CLIENT CASE STUDY Pt 2

Every month, we share a case study in our newsletter of a client that has come to see us with a challenge they had and the results they achieved from our programs.

Kristy and Simon came to see me in Jan 2022 for some help with quit smoking. Let’s continue their story …..

Kristy’s main reasons for quitting included:

1. Improve her current level of health,
2. Live a long healthy life,
3. Save a bucket load of money, and
4. Be around for as long as possible for her family.

Simon’s main reasons for quitting were very similar to Kristy’s except it also included that he strongly disliked smoking and found it made him anxious.

Given their strong desire to quit smoking, we put a plan together to introduce behaviour change & mind management techniques that would help (a) change their daily routine so that it no longer included smoking, (b) learn how to reduce stress using other more powerful techniques, (c) provide numerous ways to handle any withdrawal symptoms, should they occur, and (d) show them how to overcome any prolonged thoughts they might get about smoking.

CLIENT CASE STUDY Pt 1

Every month, we share a case study in our newsletter of a client that has come to see us with a challenge they had and the results they achieved from our programs.

Kristy and Simon came to see me in Jan 2022 for some help with quit smoking. When it comes to helping couples quit, I have found it works best if I see them one after the other on the same day. This then means that both partners go home on the same page with their quit smoking goals and can support each other through the process.

Kristy had been smoking for 26 years, having started because as a teenager, everyone around her smoked.

She was now smoking15-20 ci******es per day, costing her around $15,000 per year. Her typical triggers to smoke were before dinner, after meals and with a coffee or drinking alcohol, other smokers, when stressed or angry, on the phone gas bagging, having a break or time to think, relaxing bored or as a time filler.

She hadn’t ever tried to quit before, nor used any techniques or strategies to quit.

Simon, on the other hand had been smoking a little bit longer, almost 30 years, smoking a similar amount to Kristy. So between the two of them, they were appending around $30,000 every year on their smoking – Wow!! What could you do with an extra $30K each year!

He had very much the same triggers to smoke as Kristy. Unlike Kristy, however, he had tried using patches in the past to quit, but wasn.t able to achieve long term success with them. This is not surprising given smokers who use patches to quit have been only found to be 10-15% successful.

Aloe Vera for weight loss

You may ask – what are the benefits of aloe vera for weight loss?
In the first post in this series, we’ll discuss some of the many, many benefits derived from aloe vera.

The aloe vera plant has been used for thousands of years to heal a variety of conditions, most notably burns, wounds, skin irritations & constipation. It contains 19 of the 20 amino acids that the human body requires for good health.

In addition, it contains 75 nutrients including amino acids, anthraquinones, enzymes, hormones, lignin, salicylic acid, saponins, sterols, vitamins, minerals & sugars.

The gel of raw aloe vera contains vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12, C & E as well as choline, niacin & folic acid. And if this wasn’t enough, it also contains several minerals, the ten most important being calcium, chromium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, potassium, phosphorus, sodium & zinc.

CLIENT CASE STUDY Pt 3

Every month, we share a case study in our newsletter of a client that has come to see us with a challenge they had and the results they achieved from our programs.

Lily came to see us in April 2024 for some help with reducing her drinking consumption. Let’s now finish her story!

After drinking excessively during her separation that started in 2018, was able to achieve all her desired drink less goals by the time we finished the 3 session program. She was now only drinking, if at all, on the weekends during social activities with friends and family. To say she was ecstatic with her outcome is an understatement!

Here is what Lily wrote 3 months after starting our program:

"After a divorce and becoming a single mother I was anxious and managing a lot. I hadn't realised that I was fast becoming dependent on my consumption of alcohol. The routine was a glass whilst cooking dinner, and another at dinner and before I knew it a bottle a night wasn't unusual for me, then each night became a ritual. I realised after 5 years of this, it was a habit I needed to manage with additional help. I had tried many alternatives that only lasted a few months. Then, life happens and once again the dependence takes me hostage.

I am so grateful to Ian and his amazing techniques and professionalism. I never felt judged or useless. Ian's calmness and approach were amazing.

What I didn't acknowledge at the time, was that the hypnotherapy would unpack more than I had imagined, allowing me to connect the dots and identify the why regarding the motivation towards drinking. Following the process, trusting the process enabled me to follow through. My goal was to not drink alone, eliminate alcohol during the week, and only allow myself a few glasses during the weekend. Fast forward 3 months, and I forget at times that the weekend has come and gone to which the desire for alcohol has reduced. I am proud that I can go without and whilst I have given myself permission on the weekends, being in control has revolutionised my approach. I highly encourage anyone who feels stuck and wants to get a hold on their drinking. It is liberating and gratifying. Once you have the tools, resources and apply them, your life will be better off. I have clarity, I am in control and my funds aren't being dedicated by alcohol anymore."

CLIENT CASE STUDY Pt 2

Every month, we share a case study in our newsletter of a client that has come to see us with a challenge they had and the results they achieved from our programs.

Lily came to see us in April 2024 for some help with reducing her drinking consumption. Let’s continue her story…..

Lily had previously tried juice cleanses, colonics and meditation. These helped in the short term, but did not provide any long term solution for her.

Her main reasons for reducing her drinking included:

1. to live a healthy lifestyle,
2. to save heaps,
3. feeling good about herself,
4. get a dog,
5. having a high level of self-control over her drinking,
6. being able to be at a family event without drinking,
7. having a substantial sense of accomplishment and pride in her ability to achieve any goal she set herself, and
8. be a great role model for her daughter & allow her to thrive!

Given Lily’s strong desire to reduce her alcohol consumption, we put a plan together to introduce behaviour change & mind management techniques that would help (a) change her daily routine so that it no longer included drinking, (b) learn how to control her state and how she felt at any time, and (c) show how to overcome any negative patterns of behaviour that she had developed, not only with her drinking, but in any area of life.

Lily came to see us in April 2024 for some help with reducing her drinking consumption.

She’d recently gone through a stressful separation starting in 2018 and as a result, her drinking had increased substantially.

She was now drinking every day and knew this had to stop. Her ultimate goal was to eliminate her drinking during the working week and when alone. She was happy to consume low to moderate amounts of alcohol, but only when out socially on the weekends.

She was now also starting to realise just how much money she would save when she achieved this outcome.

So how beneficial is aerobic exercise for weight loss?

Doing 30 minutes of aerobic exercise each day will make you into an iron man or woman & will do wonders for your health, well-being & weight.

Aerobic exercise means exercising with oxygen & means doing moderate exercise sustained over a specific period. Its been said that if you condition and train your metabolism to operate aerobically & you eat & exercise properly, the primary fuel you burn is fat, even at night!

If you exercise at 70% of your heart rate, you can exercise forever & you won’t feel exhausted & physically stressed, stiff or beaten up. In fact, this is the best best addiction you can develop on the planet!!

CLIENT CASE STUDY Pt 3

Every month, we share a case study in our newsletter of a client that has come to see us with a challenge they had and the results they achieved from our programs.

Doug came to see us in May 2022 to get some help to finally quit smoking for good, after he’d been smoking for some 25 years. Let’s now finish his story.

After smoking for 25 years, Doug was able to quit smoking online in just a single session, something that he didn’t think was possible!

At the end of our session, he wrote:
“Ian was so calm and detailed in explaining the process. I felt I closed by eyes for 15min and was told I was relaxing for 1 hour whilst Ian was stepping through the program.”

Some two years later, I spoke with Doug’s partner who was able to confirm David was still going strong as a non-smoker & loving it!

Way to go Doug – what an amazing outcome! What a true inspiration you are to everyone that knows you!
