The Health Continuum is a specialized psychology clinic established in Wheelers Hill, Melbourne, by psychologists Susan Cavarra and Manal Darwish. This clinic is the culmination of their passion for wellbeing and the years of experience they have in the mental health and psychiatric industry. The Health Continuum provides effective, empowering, and respectful therapy for individuals- meeting them wherever they are on the continuum of emotional, physical, psychological, and spiritual health. We provide a range of psychological services for high prevalence mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety; relationship difficulties; trauma and personality issues; grief and adjustment difficulties. The psychologists at The Health Continuum are also Board Approved Clinical supervisors, providing supervision to training psychologists, fully-registered psychologists, and other mental health clinicians.

Such a fabulous reminder of the value of conflict in helping us connect more deeply. Conflict is inevitable, yet how we respond to each other in conflict can need our attention.

Thanks to Jeff Brown for his wisdom and articulation.

Conflict isn’t the adversary of connection... (-from my book, ‘Hearticulations’)

🚨 GOOD NEWS

Wonderful news today with the knowledge that we will continue to provide our clients with Medicare rebated Telehealth sessions beyond 2021. Yesterday the federal government announced that Telehealth will become a permanent feature of primary health care- a transformational step for the accessibility of mental health services for all Australians.

It was also announced that the additional ten COVID sessions (total of up to 20 Medicare rebatable sessions per calendar year) will be extended into 2022.

We know that whilst there is much room for improving our mental health system, these are steps in the right direction and will serve to support many of our clients in a meaningful way 👏

The vagus nerve is our access point to switching off our fight/flight response and restores our body to an ideal state. The vagus nerve is seldom discussed in mainstream arenas, as science sometimes takes a little while to filter into the laypersons land!

So check out this clip and give ‘the vagus nerve reset’ a try- feel free to share what you discovered!

This vagus nerve reset is designed to relieve stress and anxiety by restoring the social engagement state referenced in Polyvagal Theory developed by Stephen...
