OCD awareness week - October 12th - 18th, 2025
🧠 What is OCD?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a mental health condition that involves:
👉 Obsessions – unwanted thoughts, fears, or urges that cause anxiety
👉 Compulsions – actions done to try to relieve that anxiety
🧩 Common Types of OCD:
Contamination OCD: Fear of germs or illness
Checking OCD: Repeatedly checking locks, appliances, etc.
Harm OCD: Fear of accidentally hurting someone
Symmetry OCD: Needing things to feel “just right”
❗ OCD is NOT:
✖ Just being neat or tidy
✖ A personality quirk
✖ Something someone can just "get over"
It’s a real mental health condition that can seriously affect someone’s life.
