Great news from Nunyara Aboriginal Health Service Inc
SAWCAN is proud to celebrate one of our partner ACCHOs, Nunyara Aboriginal Health Service, for officially achieving Australian Service Excellence Standards (ASES) accreditation, a nationally recognised benchmark for organisational excellence and continuous improvement.
ASES looks at almost every part of an organisation, from governance, finance and HR, to teamwork, communication, partnerships, and service delivery. It is a big process that shows Nunyara has systems that work well and provides high-quality, person-centred care, with cultural safety and community connection at the heart of how they work.
It was a massive team effort, with everyone at Nunyara playing a part. A special shout out to Awhina, who led the HR preparations, Lana, who supported coordination, and Cindy, who provided leadership and guidance throughout the process. We also acknowledge all staff who helped gather evidence, took part in interviews and showed the assessor what makes Nunyara so strong.
The assessment team from Highwire, commended Nunyara for:
✅ Teamwork and collaboration: strong systems that help staff work together, share knowledge and coordinate care.
✅ Person-centred care: services that meet the needs and goals of each client, with respect and compassion.
Nunyara’s CQI and Projects Coordinator, Lana said:
“It was such a rewarding moment, a recognition of the hard work, dedication and teamwork of everyone at Nunyara. To achieve accreditation with no non-compliances was incredible.”
Congratulations to the whole Nunyara team, a deadly effort. 💛❤️🖤
