How lucky are we!!

👋 Please join us in welcoming Alex, a Speech Pathology student on placement from Charles Sturt University! 👋

We’re excited to support Alex as she gains hands-on experience working with our wonderful clients and team. It's such a great pleasure to help shape the next generation of speech pathologists and see their passion for communication and care in action.
🌟 Welcome aboard, Alex! It's so great to have you! 🌟

Alex chose to go into speech therapy as her son had 2 years of speech pathology when he was young and she sat in on almost every one of those sessions. Curious about why her son spoke the way he did and hoped learning more about it would give her some answers. It’s also important to Alex to do something that would make a difference, and the longer she has been learning about it, the more people tell her what a difference speech therapy has made to them - "and that’s really inspiring!"

A few things about Alex:

🟢 How would my friends describe me as a person? Recently - too busy with this course to spend much time with them! Hopefully kind, patient and fun.
🔵 What do I enjoy doing in my personal time? Anything to do with nature, long walks on the beach/bush, swimming, snorkelling and boogie boarding. Getting stuck in to my garden, or just putting my feet up and enjoying a good book. Catching up with friends and family.

✨ ️You may have seen her around, you may have started to work with her already! We are so excited to have Libby joining our team here at Speech on Eyre! Lets get to know and welcome her! ✨️

🟢 What made you choose speech therapy? After caring for two children with severe speech and language disorders, I have seen how early intervention speech therapy has provided them with ‘a voice’ and enabled them to express their needs, feelings, and opinions. I am honoured to support this ability in other children or clients.

🔵 How would your friends describe you as a person? A person who prefers to stay active and engaged with projects. Aims for excellence. Interested in helping others and sharing knowledge, while learning and challenging oneself. An enthusiastic advocate.

🟢 What do you enjoy doing in your personal time? I love spending quality time with my children, friends and family. I enjoy doing DIY projects around the house, listening to music and nothing more than having a deep tissue massage when in need of some ‘self-care’.

🔵 Do you have any pets? We have two Bunny Boys named Freddie and Pretty Boy (PB) and two frogs named Freckles and Freddo.

🟢 Fav food/drink? Favourite Drink: Pepsi Max, Favourite food: Any type of cheese

🔵 What makes you happy? Going on holidays with my children and experiencing new things together. Spending ‘Fun Days’ with family and close friends. I’m so happy and grateful to have found such a supportive friendship group who allow my children to ‘feel heard’ and be confident to be their true authentic selves.
