Get ready to mark your calendars because "Let's Chalk About it" is happening on November 11th at the fabulous Wetlands from 10am to 2pm!
We're giving out chalk, and we want YOU to scribble, sketch, and draw messages of inspiration, encouragement, and good vibes all around the Whyalla wetlands. Let's turn this event into a positivity party, chat it up, and stomp out the stigma surrounding mental health and well-being.
Can't wait to see to see you there!

Family.

It’s always my number 1 value.

After many challenges to that number one spot due to some generational behavioural patterns including my own egos attempts to rob us of family joy, I am crystal clear that family is my jam🤗

Everywhere we find ourselves, witnessing these beautiful souls grow and develop in the most unique ways is just so special.

It’s so clear to me now that life is short.

It’s up to us to keep the oil lamp burning, keep our awareness, about what is most important in our life

Stay present.

Love life.

Live fully❤️

Some years ago I commented on how busy an old friend of mine was.

He wisely replied,

‘Peter, this is the richness of life’

In the last 24 hours I have shared a happy birthday, sorrowful loss, shared in a new opening, celebrated a year of diligent and hard work and supported a family we love.

We often accidentally compete in the busy olympics. Comparing calendars of how much we have to do with such little time.

My old friend had the most epic point!

It’s really a philosophy of good living.

The ‘busy-ness’ of life often leads to stress.

I see now that the ‘richness of life’ leads to a satiated feeling of joyful contentment.

Let’s let go of the idea that the gaps in our calendar must be filled or we are being lazy.

And when our day is full, celebrate each part of it as a full experience of life.

It works for me🤗

(Thank you to Nicole for this photo of our Whyami Walkers walking group - all welcome every Wednesday at 645am🙏🏼)

I found it! The reason why I live the way I do!

Man it’s like holding onto a slippery fish, like finding a needle in a hay stack multiple times on the journey.

After years of constantly bumping into the question of ‘Why do I do what I do?’ it came to me this morning out of ‘nowhere’…

or should I say ‘now-here’ (meditate on that for a minute or two).

I do what I do to leave the world better than I found it!

My whole body said YES! when this sentence popped into my mind, it just emerged out of the fog and into plain sight in my mind.

It’s why I

discipline myself

connect with life

love my wife

raise my kids

engage with my clients

lead the community I love

enthusiastically share ideas I am passionate about

in the ways that I do.

The journey to this point has been epic and as an old friend once encouraged me,

‘You didn’t come this far, just to come this far’.

On wards and upwards baby!

40 is approaching and I’m just getting warmed up🤗

Today is so wonderful with all its challenges and opportunities.

And I wonder what tomorrow will bring🙌

PS: I’m sure my wife is as thrilled about this photo as I am! What a pair of crazies🤪

🌳2023 Whyalla Wellness Weekend update🌳

This roller coaster ride of organiser JUST KEEPS GETTING BETTER AND BETTER!

Yesterday I had a massive day getting 50 flyers up around Whyalla. To be honest I lost track of exactly where I got to but here are the ones I can remember:

Eyre Peninsula Produce
Sumthin Tastee
Whisk Away
Simply Good Health
Whyalla City Council
YMCA
Drs at Bunyarra and Ekblom St.
Aldi
Snap Fitness
Blended Coffee
Terry White Chemist
Westlands shopping centre
Mint Cafe
Barrett’s Blinds
Inspirations Paint

And how cool is this: the flyer has a QR code on it that links to a landing page where you can see all the FREE events/experiences and click to find out more about them and book your free tickets!

It’s basic as but for someone like me this was way out of my area of expertise to pull off🤣

I’ll post THE DIRECT LINK in the comments also.

Here’s a list of the current events you can book into for FREE:

🏜️Thermal Imaging Info Session
🍳Navigating Food Labels with a Naturopath
🍱Eat Like a Prince on the Budget of a Pauper
🌬️Breathwork and Mediation Session
📖 Journaling for Joy

The Whyalla Small Business and Networking breakfast yesterday was a joy to participate in with guest speaker Daniel Marshall providing some excellent ideas and strategies for becoming financially independent.

Key points below:

1. Gratitude - come from this place and there is no lack - build finances from this.

2. Write most important goals down on paper, rename your savings account as your goal.

3. Top 3 high value tasks - 3 each day is 21/week and 1092/year!

4. Track expenses/income daily

5. Reflect on the day

You become what you think about - writing it brings clarity which will bring positive emotion - you are literally becoming it.

The end goal is not the goal, the end goal is the ‘process of becoming’.

Most believe more money is the answer. Chances are when you earn more you will spend more. You need a better plan, then more money.

Winning is a habit, self reflection helps set our minds on those wins from the day!

Actions you choose today will become your habits. This will change your life.

Find ways to add value, money is the byproduct.

Have a purpose behind why your saving.

Thanks Daniel Marshall for sharing your passion for helping others so generously! If you like his ideas above, please reach out to him for a chat! He is an inspired young man doing his best to help others🙏🏼

Thanks also to Leslie Maxwell for her inspiration!

Leslie shared with us an opportunity that’s coming up on 17 October to show support for Whyalla to receive funding over 10 YEARS to make true inroads into systematically helping address social challenges that are affecting so many of our brothers and sisters in our community.

Please reach out to Leslie for further info. I’ll be there in the 17th showing my full support🙏🏼

And most of all thank you to all who attended and made the morning such a pleasure to experience! The food and coffee at Whisk Away was delectable! And the staff are always so lovely🤗

The next Whyalla Small Business and Networking breakfast is on the 26th of October and I have organised a business owner and part time rally driver to share their experiences with us and inspire us to be all that we can be!

It’ll be a high performance event! Can’t wait!!!

I always get so excited before a presentation!

Tomorrow mornings Whyalla Business Breakfast will be a full house and I wanted to say a massive THANKYOU in advance to everyone who will be in the room at 645am!

I’m excited to share some passion for the Whyalla local business community and the enormous potential we all have, no just as business owners but as members of a wider community who rely on us being on our A game to provide the services and products that we do locally.

It’s also so important to realise that local business owners are wives, husbands, mums and dads too and it’s a challenge to juggle competing priorities. I appreciate the commitment in advance that you have all made!

So here’s a big thumbs up to jumping on board an idea to bring together local Whyalla business owners to collaborate and make the most of the amazing skill sets we all have!

Thanks again team! 😃

👏What a wonderful response from the local Whyalla business community👏

We have an awesome group coming together for Thursdays Whyalla Business Breakfast🤗

Tickets are still available but be quick to book your spot on the link in the comments ⬇️

At this first event I am excited to share the game plan of connecting local business owners together for support and encouragement!

I’m also excited to share how I personally manage my own business around raising 6 kids, a marriage and many other community commitments.

As an added bonus, participants will have a first glimpse of the 2023 calendar of events specific for local businesses including…🥁drum roll please… 🥁

A Christmas party for sole traders!!! BOOM 💥

When you own a business in the region, collaborating is BETTER than competing!

This event will be a forum and a catalyst for this collaboration.

Together we can truly serve the community better through our business and in doing so we can create a better life for our own family.

I’m so PUMPED to see you there🤗

🤠ATTENTION LOCAL BUSINESS OWNERS IN WHYALLA🤠

⬇️Here is an example of locals helping locals⬇️

Being a business owner can be a lonely journey🥺

Overwhelm and stress can catch us off guard at any moment🤯

It’s at these times that having a connection with other local business owners can be so helpful!😃

And that’s why I am so excited to launch the Whyalla Business Breakfast🤗

Thanks to Adam and the team at Breeze Bistro (an awesome and supportive local business in its own right), our first breaky is open to anyone who wants to be encouraged and supported in their business by a group of locals with a heart for Whyalla and service of others while building a sustainable and profitable business.

At this breakfast you will:

* Enjoy a barista coffee or beverage of your choice

* Enjoy a fresh hot breakfast of your choice

* Connect with local business owners who share your struggles and want to encourage you

* Learn about the opportunities ahead for all business owners in Whyalla and how to position yourself to make the most of them

* Take advantage of FREE business support for the next 12 months…you heard correctly! Completely FREE business support for 12 months thanks to a federally funded Building Community Resilience program being rolled out in the Upper Spencer Gulf (that’s us🤗🙏🏼)

Click the link in the comments below to book your spot and remember to tag anyone you think would benefit from this local networking opportunity.

The future belongs to those who show up. I will be there with bells on 🔔 and can’t wait to meet you😃
