Vaccination gives the best protection against measles.

There are measles outbreaks around the world and an increase in confirmed cases in Australia.

The measles vaccination is particularly important for adults with higher risk of exposure, including overseas travelers.

Measles vaccination is recommended for:
✅ children aged 12 months and over
✅ adolescents who have not received 2 doses of measles vaccine
✅ people born in 1966 or after who have not received 2 doses of the measles vaccine
✅ children over 6 months old who may travel to high-risk areas.

Talk to your health professional about getting protected against measles if you haven’t been vaccinated already.

Put your health first and add ‘book my mammogram’ to your to-do list. 💗

1 in 7 women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. The earlier breast cancer is found, the better your chance of surviving it.

BreastScreen Australia provides free mammograms every two years for women aged 40 and over, with women aged 50 to 74 actively invited by state and territory programs.

We support Breast Cancer Awareness Month and encourage women aged 40+ to book their free 2-yearly screening appointment by calling 📞 13 20 50.

Surprising Effects of Poor Sleep on Your Health

We all know a bad night’s sleep can leave you tired and cranky — but the impact goes much deeper. Chronic poor sleep can affect your entire body:

🔸 Immune System – Less sleep = weaker defence against colds, flu, and infections.
🔸 Heart Health – Increases risk of high blood pressure and heart disease.
🔸 Mental Health – Linked to anxiety, depression, and difficulty coping with stress.
🔸 Weight & Hormones – Disrupts appetite hormones, leading to weight gain.
🔸 Brain Function – Memory, focus, and decision-making all take a hit.

Prioritising quality sleep is one of the most powerful things you can do for your health.
If you’re struggling with ongoing sleep issues, your GP can help uncover the cause and guide you toward better rest.
