There are some new Medicare rebates coming from 1 March under the M10 allied health items for:
- Speech Sound Disorders (including articulation and phonological disorders)
- Stuttering
- Childhood Apraxia of Speech
- Dysarthria
- Cleft lip and/or palate

Reach out if you would like to discuss your child's eligibility. Your GP is responsible for the referrals.

Every day, we work with children to support them in improving their communication skills, such as:
- learning the right sounds to say in words so they can be understood, and not just by close family members!
- using more words so they don't need to use their behaviour to show their big feelings and they can use words instead
- develop the confidence to join in play with peers, to make real friendships

We are continually upskilling as a team to ensure optimal care for our clients. In our clinician catch up yesterday we delved into all things related to vocabulary development, following an article from The Informed SLP. We discussed Early Intervention best practice, ways to make parent coaching work, increasing practice amounts in practical ways as well as deciding on goals based on the child's Zone of Proximal Development.

We had some amazing learning and fun happening yesterday in our Brilliant Bodies group program. We learned about visiting the doctor and the dentist, labelling body parts and feelings, explored self esteem and so much more, all while having fun together! It is so important for kids to be able to describe their feelings, where things are going on (or going wrong!) in their bodies, so these skills are so important and functional.

We are back for 2026 and we have started the year with some fresh, fruity FUN with our new Fruity Friends group! It was fantastic to see the kiddos so interested in a variety of different fruits, discussing and exploring their features, preparing and eating fruit salad and so much more!

Today marks our last clinical day for 2025! We will be closed from 5pm this afternoon until 8am Monday 19th January 2026. Our emails and phones will not be monitored during this time so that our team can restore and recharge ready to give their best in the new year!
