Jack’s got his eyes on turning this into a job one day, so we’re right here beside him, building the skills, the confidence, and the path to get there. 💪✨ 🐝

🐝 Meet Isla, one of our wonderful support worker bees here at Honey Hive Disability Supports.
Here’s a little bit about Isla in her own words:

Hi! I’m Isla, and I’ve been with Honey Hive since March 2023. I’m super passionate about assisting people who need a little extra support in their lives to be as independent as possible and to reach their goals. I hold a Cert III in Individual Support, and before working in disability, I briefly worked as a PCA in aged care. I’m an absolute animal nut and have two sooky Labradors that I’m obsessed with. I enjoy watching movies (especially horror) and reading classic fiction when I manage to find the time. I would love the opportunity to get to know you and support you! 🐝

🐝 ZUCCHINI NOODLES!!

Our lovely client Stormy is building confidence in the kitchen by making homemade zucchini noodles from scratch! From prepping the veggies to proudly showing off the final product, this is what growing independence and trying new things looks like.

New skills, fresh flavours, and plenty of proud moments along the way. 💛🐝

🐝 Kerry is one of the incredible participants we’re proud to support, and here he is doing what he does best at the Queenscliff Maritime Museum ⚓

Through the right support and an accessible, welcoming environment, Kerry volunteers weekly and plays an active role in his community. This is what meaningful inclusion looks like - building confidence, gaining skills, and contributing in a space that’s safe and supportive.

We’re here to walk alongside our participants as they chase purpose, connection, and independence 🐝

🐝 Confidence. Coordination. Community. 💛

Today’s session at Laserquest Geelong wasn’t just about the scoreboard — it was about building independence and decision making skills in a fun, supported environment.

Community access experiences like this help strengthen social connection, resilience, and confidence — all while having an absolute blast.

Because real growth happens when support meets opportunity. 🎮✨ 🐝

🐝 Colouring isn’t just filling in shapes — it’s slowing the world down to the pace of a pencil or brush 🎨✨

Lexi and Storm practised mindful colouring: focusing on each stroke. It’s a simple activity that supports concentration, emotional regulation, creativity, and confidence — and it creates space for calm connection along the way.

Sometimes the most powerful supports look like colouring books and a quiet moment. 🐝

🐝 We’d love to introduce Lexi, our newest lovely Honey Hive support worker bee! Here’s what Lexi would like to say to introduce herself -
Hi, I’m Lexi! I’m proactive in deepening my understanding of mental health and disability, I’m currently studying a Bachelor of Criminology/Bachelor of Psychological Science and completing my Certificate IV in Mental Health.
I have a strong passion for creativity, particularly painting and digital art. I love spending my downtime playing video games and solving puzzles. I’m also a huge animal lover with two beautiful cats, and in my spare time, you’ll often find me curled up with them watching true crime or anime.
What I love most about working at Honey Hive is the supportive team who make me feel valued as I continue to grow. I enjoy meeting a diverse range of people and knowing that the work we do truly makes a difference in their lives. Seeing someone gain confidence or independence is incredibly rewarding.

If you’d like to get some support from Lexi, or one of our other wonderful support workers, chuck us an email at admin@honeyhive.au or call us on 0414381676 or 0414247399 🐝

The MC was who started off by sharing her experiences with FA and made the whole event run smoothly and guest speaker told her amazing story and, yes, as she said, she does have ‘the most beautiful hair’ 🤣❤️ Thank you to all sponsors and the wonderful community who have made this event possible.
