As an osteopath and mum of nearly 3âŚ
I can tell you this confidently:
Easy pregnancies, smooth births and good recoveries donât just âhappenâ.
Your body prepares for birth long before labour begins.
And no, I donât believe women were designed to suffer through pregnancy.
Iâve had two very positive pregnancies, births and recoveries.
One physiological breech birth.
One free birth with only my husband present.
And I fully expect my third to be the same.
Not because I got âluckyâ.
Because Iâve supported my body intentionally the entire way through.
I nourished my body properly.
Minerals. Protein. Whole foods. Hydration. Nervous system support.
I kept moving.
Weights 3â5x a week. Walking daily and some running.
I maintained strength.
And honestly? This matters more than most women realise.
Pregnancy is treated like fragility.
âDonât lift that.â
âDonât strain.â
âSlow down.â
Yet birth itself is one of the most physically demanding things a woman will ever do.
Your body needs capacity.
Strength. Mobility. Endurance. Trust.
I also protected my environment fiercely.
Because birth works best when a woman feels:
Safe.
Connected.
Loved.
Unobserved.
Relaxed.
The same environment that makes a baby⌠helps birth one.
And postpartum?
I didnât rush it.
I rested.
Reconnected slowly.
Allowed recovery to happen instead of trying to âbounce backâ.
But the biggest thing?
I trusted my body.
I didnât feed fear.
I didnât hand my power away.
I listened to my body instead of constantly looking outside myself.
I honestly believe many women are being conditioned to fear birth instead of prepare for it.
Fear disconnects you from your body.
Strength reconnects you to it.
Move your body.
Nourish it properly.
Protect your nervous system.
Trust yourself more than the noise.
That changes everything.
