For the first 3-6 months vision continues to improve. In very few cases there may be some regression in the eye and if this is the case then an enhancement procedure can be undertaken to fine tune the results.

However, depending on your age when you invest in laser, your eyes will go through the normal changes of ageing.

As you age and the natural lens of the eye becomes less flexible, a natural process called presbyopia, and it is likely you will require reading glasses for near tasks. This usually happens to most people in their 40s to 50s. If you have laser before this time you may start to need reading glasses.

If laser vision correction is undertaken after the age of 45 years, a procedure called blended vision can treat for both near and far vision outcomes.

At a young age Ben experienced the impact of blindness firsthand when growing up he watched his grandfather go blind from glaucoma. 👁️

As a child, and then a young adult, he regularly visited eye clinics and saw how many people had eye and vision issues that were preventable or could be improved with medical intervention.

This experience inspired him to become an ophthalmologist and to help people both maintain and improve their vision.

When people talk about 20/20 vision, they are referring to a standard measure of visual clarity. 👁️

This measurement comes from the Snellen chart, which is the familiar chart of letters that decrease in size on each line as pictured in this post.

During an eye test, a patient is asked to read the letters from a set distance, usually six metres in Australia.

It’s important to note that 20/20 is not the same as having perfect eyesight, it's simply a benchmark of how clearly you can see detail at a set distance.
