Merry Christmas everyone.
Thank you to all my clients and families this year. I really appreciate that you have chosen me to help you with your nutrition journey.

This post is to let you know that I am out of office now without phone access and limited internet and email access.
I will reply to your emails/messages at the end of January in preparation for my first clinics in early February.

I hope you all have a relaxing Christmas with hopefully some time to unwind and enjoy yummy Christmas food.

I love this

"Is she a good baby?"

Every new parent has been asked this a thousand times.
Of course, what they really mean is
"Does she sleep through the night?"
"Is she going a long time between feeds?"
"Is she quiet and calm all the time?"

It can put so much pressure on new parents, because it's biologically normal for babies to:

✅ Breastfeed frequently - usually at least 8 - 12 times in 24hrs.
✅ Wake frequently, or prefer to sleep in direct physical contact with their parent or carer.
✅ Cry or fuss to communicate their needs, or get upset when they aren't being held.

All babies are good babies, and none of these behaviours mean you're doing something wrong. ❤

Of course, if you are worried about any of your baby's behaviour, seek advice from an IBCLC or your healthcare provider.

Today is the start of World breastfeeding week.
This is celebrated every year from 1st to 7th August.
Each year there is a different theme to focus on providing support for mothers to help them optimise their breastfeeding journey.

This year the theme is Making Breastfeeding Work at Work.

Depending on when mothers decide to return to work they may be breastfeeding a lot or a little but there are benefits for mums, babies and employers when we can support them to continue breastfeeding.
