If You Don’t Have A Dentist You Love Please Read On…

Hello, my name is Dr. Jack Yang and I recently took over the dental practice located in here the Terry White Chemist in the Winston Hills Mall. Many of my new patients tell me how they’d been struggling to find the right dentist and how great it’s been to find me. So, to help you decide whether I might be right for you, I’ll try to give you simple answers to the questions I typically get asked. If You Are Anxious Or Embarrassed. There’s no need to be! If you have not seen a dentist for many years because you just hate the thought of going to the dentist or you’ve had a bad experience, I understand. I’ll always take time to listen to you so that I know your concerns and what you want. You see it’s not just teeth I treat but the very important person on the other side of that smile. How Do You Decide What Treatment Is Right For Me? That’s a very easy question for me to answer. We provide the full range of dental care… from stopping tooth ache fast to implants and great cosmetic dentistry so we have all the right options for your care. Rest assured the treatment I recommend for you will be the same as I would use for my family or myself … if I wouldn't do it for them or have it done to me there’s no way I’d recommend it for you... absolutely no way. Put simply that means I never recommend “cheap” or short-term solutions. Is Your Treatment Pain Free? I go to extraordinary lengths to make what I do as pain free as possible. I’d be lying if I said that you’ll never ever feel a thing but, with my gentle approach and state-of-the-art equipment, lots of our patients tell me, “Dr Jack, I didn't feel a thing.”

You Must Be Expensive! I am certainly not the cheapest dentist around, nor am I the most expensive. As with most things, you get what you pay for, so I offer great value… the right dentistry at the right price. And I make it easy to pay because we take credit cards and, for major dental work, smile rejuvenation and orthodontics, you can spread the payments. A Word About My Team- My care team really do want to look after you when you come in for your dental care. They are well trained, highly skilled, very efficient and, most importantly, want you to relax and be comfortable! So, they’re never too busy to get you a tea or coffee or explain things so that you know what’s happening. Quite simply, they really do care! For Teeth That Look Great- Choose from a whole range of options to suit your budget. Some of the treatment I’m often asked about and happy to help patients with includes:
• care for ageing or breaking teeth
• a smile makeover that looks attractive and natural
• bringing your teeth into line
• closing up a gap between your teeth
• replacing broken or missing teeth
• getting rid of chips and cracks
• restoring old, broken, stained or discoloured teeth
• replacing ugly metal fillings with natural tooth coloured ones
• eliminating the need for a plate or dentures
• enhancing the whiteness or brightness of your teeth

Great Dental Care For Children And Teenagers! Our aim is to keep your children’s teeth in tip top condition by providing great preventive dental care. Importantly too, when we see children at an early age, we can often correct problems that are normally not identified till their teenage years. This may mean that the expensive and prolonged procedures, like major orthodontic work, may be minimised or even not needed. If You Like What You’ve Read...
Just call my office for an appointment to suit your busy lifestyle. When I see you I’ll stop any pain, if that’s the problem. Then I’ll check your teeth and discuss your options so you can decide what you want to do… it’s entirely up to you. Dr. Jack Yang

Our Dental Assistants are the backbone of every procedure. They see the results, help manage the post-treatment care, are hands on with treatments and hear the honest feedback from our patients once our dentists leave the room.

Today we caught up with our dental assistant Gemma and asked her about the best 3 ways to whiten your teeth!

Can veneers fix an overbite? It’s a question we hear often - The answer; It depends on your unique bite.

Veneers are fantastic for masking minor misalignment and "instant orthodontics," but for more significant overbites, a different clinical approach may be needed to ensure your long-term dental health.

In our latest blog, we look into:
âś… The difference between a cosmetic fix and a structural correction.
âś… When veneers are a great option for overbites.
âś… Alternative treatments for more complex bite issues.

Veneers are thin, custom-made shells that are bonded to the front of your teeth.

They’re commonly used to cover discoloured or stained teeth, close small gaps, correct minor chips and to help improve overall tooth shape and alignment.

With Veneers there are some considerations to keep in mind: tooth enamel may need to be reduced, the procedure is generally irreversible, and some people experience temporary sensitivity. Good oral hygiene and regular dental visits are important to maintain your new smile.

These before and after photos were taken approximately 4 weeks apart.

School holidays are almost over!

While kids are off school, it’s a perfect opportunity to catch up on their oral health. Many families use this time for routine check-ups, cleanings and treatments that can set them up for a healthy new school year.

At what age should I start taking my child to see the dentist? 👀🤔

It’s recommended that children have their first dental visit as early as six months old. This is when those first baby teeth start coming in and our team can check that everything is developing as it should. After that first visit, it’s best to schedule regular check-ups every six months to keep their teeth and gums healthy as they grow.

Being dentists, we see a lot of patients who bring their children in regularly — even if dental care wasn’t a big part of their own childhood.

Which has our dental team wondering: How many of our followers had or didn’t have regular dental check-ups growing up, rather than only when you had tooth pain? And now as an adult, do you find this experience motivates you to ensure your children go to the dentist regularly?

We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!

Primary treatment procedure: In-chair Teeth whitening!

This procedure uses a gel activated by a specific LED light to address extrinsic tooth staining. Images taken same day as treatment.

👉 Suitability: Professional whitening is only effective on natural tooth structure and will not change the colour of existing crowns, veneers or fillings.

👉 Common Side Effects: Temporary tooth sensitivity and minor gum irritation are common but typically subside within 24–48 hours.

👉 Aftercare: To maintain the result, we recommend a "white diet" (avoiding coffee, tea, and red wine) for at least 48 hours post-treatment.

Before proceeding, a clinical assessment is performed to ensure the health of the enamel and gums.

4 months in the making…

This patient came to us with different dental issues including an upper denture that kept shifting making everyday activities like speaking and chewing more difficult over time.

Which we replaced with full-arch solutions. This treatment approach replaces a whole upper or lower arch using a denture supported by dental implants, often considered when multiple teeth are missing or dentures are difficult to manage.
Today’s reel shows a glimpse of his journey so far.

👉 Tune in tomorrow to see what full-arch solutions involved for him.

🚨 PSA: Cavities don’t fix themselves.
But the good news? Early decay can be treated.

Tooth decay starts quietly — often you don’t notice it until it’s painful or becomes a full-blown problem. But early detection and care can save you a lot of discomfort, stress (and even expensive treatments) down the track.

Why it matters:

👉 Early decay can be reversed with fluoride or simple treatments — no drill or drama needed.
🪥 Small cavities? Fillings can restore the tooth before damage spreads deeper.
⚠️ Left unchecked: decay can reach the tooth’s nerve — leading to pain, root-canal, or even extraction.

Your teeth don’t need to hurt for something to be happening.

Every patient who walks through our door brings a story.

Some have lived with pain for years, some have put their own needs last while caring for others, some simply haven’t felt “at home” in their smile for a long time.
Seeing them take that first step — trusting us with something so personal — is something we never take lightly.
Full-mouth rehab is a journey.

There are appointments, conversations, risks and big milestones.

For this patient who received a full mouth rehab the after images taken are approximately 9 weeks post-treatment.
