"Connected Care" - this is our approach to child therapy here at Nurtured Insight. With attachment theory at the driving wheel, developmental theory being the road, and systems theory being the car, we bring these three BIG areas of psychology together, to engage parents in the therapeutic process from the beginning. This is best practice.
We hope, in time, that Medicare catches up and allows more than 2 funded sessions for parents to attend 🤦‍♀️

Therapy is not prescriptive, as much as the medical field would have you believe.

Therapy is a process.

It is not a "strategy to fix my anxiety".

If it was this easy, then therapy wouldn't exist.

You can google and AI all the tools and strategies your heart desires.

This is isn't therapy.

When you enter the therapeutic space with your clinician/psychologist/counsellor, know that you are committing to a process.

A process that involves looking deeply at the distress or suffering that you are experiencing, and learning how to have a different relationship with this distress.

It is not a tick-box of "do this, then that" and you are magically 'cured'.

Therapy is for all - not those with a diagnosis or a disorder or someone who has been pathologised.

It's for everyone, through every transition, through every adjustment and through every life change.

When it comes to therapy with children - the same is true.

There are no 'magic wand' strategies that a therapist can 'fix'.

The child and the parents enter a process with the therapist.

This process is therapeutic and will be part of your personalised treatment plan.

This is why therapy works, and AI doesn't.

Two very different things - process vs prescriptive.

As a seasoned school psychologist, this ratio has been recommended for the past 15 years. In the changing climate and needs for our students, this ratio should be at minimum 1:250. Our kids and schools deserve more!

Today I had the pleasure of running 2 Yoga classes for the Year 9 Rite Journey girls at CCW.
We played, we laughed, we embraced the awkward, we practice high and low energy, we used our breath, we balanced, we moved our bodies, we read stories, we relaxed!
What a humble experience 🙏🩵

Our Term 4 Kids Yoga Program is about to launch!

Here is a brief snippet of me and my nephew, playing and learning together… this is the true me, all vulnerable, enjoying the sunshine with family.
Kids Yoga is all about movement… Body, Breath and Balance.

For those who have registered and paid, I can’t wait to meet you and teach you all some wonderful and fun ways to move our bodies, connect with ourself, become more aware, and find balance within.

We have one space left if anyone would like to grab it! This pilot class targets 8-11years olds, but please reach out if you have any questions or feedback.
