My how time flies! Our Assistant Branch Manager, Alfie, has just celebrated his first birthday. He was extra happy as not only did he have a special birthday cake, his best friend, Annie, was able to join the fun. Happy birthday, Alfie 🎉🎂🎈

Just a reminder, election day is this Saturday May 3. Some prepoll centres are now open for early voting (there is a link in the comments below where you can check for early voting centres near you)

If you need extra assistance when voting, please let the staff at the polling centre know so they can assist.

If you are visually impaired, there is an option to vote by phone however you will need to register for this (please refer to information in the comments).

Are you looking for opportunities to meet new people and develop new social connections?

The upcoming Albury Wodonga Social Connections event on Friday 4 April 2025 may be of interest to you.

The last two events received great feedback and you can see photos from the events on the website - www.awsocialconnections.com

This event will be a Speed Meet and Game Night that will provide a space where individuals can mingle, meet new people, explore dating skills and make social connections. It is relevant for those seeking friendships, as well as those that may be seeking a deeper connection. Individuals can bring their own supports if required (no additional cost) as no direct support/personal care will be available at the event.

There will be finger food, games, activities, music and volunteers on hand to assist individuals make connections with others if required.

Registrations and payment are via Humanitix (QR code on flyer), $30 per person.

Family Fun Day is next week! On Sunday 23 March, we will be celebrating together at Werribee Open Range Zoo from 10:30am to 12:30pm.

Here is what your ticket to Family Fun Day will get you:
🦁 all the Family Fun Day activities, performances and entertainment
🦁 entry to the zoo on the day from 9am, before Family Fun Day kicks off
🦁 entry to the zoo for the rest of the day after Family Fun Day wraps at up 12:30pm
🦁 a fun way to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day
🦁 excellent, friendly vibes
🦁 a memorable and joyful day with the DSV community!

If you are already coming along, a reminder to please leave ample time to find a carpark as the zoo is busy on weekends.

If you haven't secured your ticket yet, you can get them online until midday on Thursday 20 March at https://www.downsyndrome.org.au/vic/ffd-2025/. After that point you will be able to purchase tickets at the gate on the day.
