After eight wonderful years here in Wodonga, Independent Living Specialists, previously known as LEEF, and Mitchell Healthcare, are making the move across to Albury into a larger premises.

They’ve been an absolute pleasure to work alongside over the years—always supportive, professional, and genuinely caring for our shared clients. We’re really sad to see them leave Wodonga, but excited to see them take this next step.

Welcome back Anna!!

We’re really excited to welcome Anna back into the clinic over the coming months while Kylie is away.

Anna will be stepping in for two days of clinical work, as well as running some additional Pilates matwork and reformer sessions — a great opportunity for both our team and patients to benefit from her expertise.

While Anna doesn’t do a lot of regular clinical work these days, she is exceptionally well qualified and now recognised as an international expert in physiotherapy, having contributed extensively to the academic world through her research and publications. We’re incredibly fortunate to have someone of her calibre as part of our team.

As many of you know, Anna is also a director of the clinic, playing a key role behind the scenes in shaping the direction and management of the business.

Most importantly, we’re looking forward to having her energy back in the clinic — her bubbly nature and enthusiasm always lift the place.

Please give her a big virtual high 5!!👋

Five years of Kylie 💚

This coming Tuesday marks Kylie’s 5-year work anniversary at Optimum, and what a journey it’s been.

Over the past five years, Kylie has become such an important part of our team — an exceptional clinician, a wonderful leader of our Pilates space, and quite simply an all-round fabulous human being. Her warmth, professionalism, and genuine care for every patient shines through every single day, and she’s made such a lasting impact on so many people in our community.

As she now heads off on maternity leave (today!!), we’re so excited for this next chapter. If we know Kylie, she’s probably secretly praying little bub decides to arrive a little earlier than expected!! 👶💕

I think it’s fair to say Baby Bunting has probably felt more like Baby Bunnings lately...popping in for one thing and somehow coming out with a trolley full of “essentials” 🛒😂

We wished Kylie a very fond farewell with some gifts and a beautiful team meal at , and we can’t wait to hear all about the arrival of your gorgeous little girl in the coming weeks.

From all of us at Optimum, thank you for everything you’ve brought to the clinic over the last five years. We’re going to miss you, but we’re so excited for what’s ahead.

With petrol prices still on the steep side, Joe’s been hard at work trialling cheaper ways to get to the clinic… 🛒⛽️

This morning we found him taking a spin in this conveniently placed transport upgrade, with his trusty driver, Sijie, outside Optimum.

Pros:
✔ no fuel bill
✔ environmentally friendly
✔ easy parking
✔ extra 'leg day' for Sijie

Cons:
✖ top gear needs work
✖ tough on the hills
✖ an OH&S no-no

In fairness, it did get him to work on time… although we’re not convinced this will be replacing the car anytime soon!

Another year, another reminder that while his physio is great, his dress sense still needs a bit of work 🐣😂

This Easter hat was a charity buy for a good cause, although we’ve all got a feeling it might be making a few more appearances over the years.

Wishing all our lovely patients and families a really happy Easter — plenty of chocolate, family time and hopefully a chance to put the feet up.

Just a heads up that we’ll be closed from Good Friday and back open on Tuesday 7th April.

Bit of a folk music pit stop at Optimum today 🎻🎶

Anna and Joe’s family are heavily involved in the Irish and folk music scene around Australia, and festival season is usually a big part of their calendar. Normally they'd be heading up to the National Folk Festival in Canberra ourselves, but we’re giving it a miss this year.

That said, it was brilliant to have some great friends call in on their way through — Andy Rigby in the purple, his daughter Sylvie in the white tshirt, and the rest of the gang making the trip up from Castlemaine.

Safe travels gang — we’re very jealous not to be joining you this weekend! Wishing you a smooth trip, plenty of great tunes, and a cracking time at one of the best festivals going.

If anyone’s ever looking for a fabulous weekend away, the 'Nash' is absolutely not to be missed.
