Last night’s circle was pure magic 🪄

You can’t really sum up circle until you have actually been part of one but last night was a group of amazing women who shared stories, ideas, support but most importantly showed up to take time for themselves so they can look after all the people around them 🥰

We paused before the silly season an we reflected on what we what our December to feel and look like ✨

💕 World Breastfeeding Week 💕

Some of my most treasured moments as a mother have been spent right here. My babies close, their little hands resting on me, our breaths slowing together.

Nearly 4 years on from when I first began, I’m still breastfeeding, 2 years and 5 months with my first (some of that alongside my second), and just over 2 years into feeding my youngest.

It hasn’t been easy. It’s been cracked ni***es, long nights, cluster feeds, and moments I wondered how I’d keep going.

It has also been joy, closeness, connection, and quiet moments only we share.

This journey has nothing to do with luck.
It’s been about having the right support. Support given freely by others, support I sought out, and the boundaries I put in place to protect us.

It’s been about blocking out the noise.
Trusting my body. Trusting my babies.

I love this journey ❤️

Not because it’s always been easy, but because it’s been ours.

To every mother feeding, however that looks for you, I see you.

Last night we celebrated Imbolc at our Monthly Circle 🌸

Imbolc is halfway between the Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox. It is not quite spring yet but we can feel the days getting longer and the warmth creeping in ✨ Traditionally, it is a festival of hope and renewal and honours the goddess Brigid ❤️‍🔥

Imbolc invites us to release the heaviness of Winter and embrace new seeds 🌱

In the tender season of postpartum, one of the most important things we can offer a new mother is a deep sense of safety ❤️

Not safety in the way the world defines it, but a safety that is felt in the body. A safety that says ‘you are held, you can rest, you are not alone’

This begins wirg there simple things:

🍲 Avoid Hunger
Postpartum hunger is real! Nourishing, warm and easy-to-digest meals support not just your energy, but your nervous system. A well-fed Mamma feels safer to slow down.

🧣 Promote Warmth
The body has opened, released and now needs wrapping, holding, soft warmth to close and restore. Warm drinks, blankets and gentle touch- they tell your body you are safe now.

🌙 Protect Sleep
Sleep might look different, but it is sacred. Whether it is 10 minutes while someone rocks the baby or the golden gift of a full nap- protecting a mother’s sleep protects her wellbeing.

These three things are not luxuries.
They are care.
They are safety.
They are love in action.
