It is with a heavy heart that we advise the unexpected and tragic passing of our dear colleague and friend Dr Alison Green on Friday 10th October 2025.

This unexpected loss has deeply affected all of us. As we navigate through this difficult time, we extend our sincerest condolences to her family and friends. Dr Green has been an integral member of the Central Medical Group team for over 30 years, so in this moment of grief, we ask for your understanding and support as we work together to honour her memory.

Thank you for your compassion and support during this challenging time.

Aged 45 to 49 and want a kit? Talk to your doctor about bowel cancer screening.

The Australian Government introduced the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program (NBCSP) to reduce the number of deaths from bowel cancer in Australia. People with cancers diagnosed through the Program had a 40% lower risk of dying than people who had not been screened.
Eligible people aged 45-49 can request their first bowel cancer screening test be mailed to them.
Eligible people aged 50-74 will continue to receive a bowel cancer screening test in the mail every 2 years

When you can't visit a doctor in person, ask if they offer phone or video consultation instead. You'll just need access to a smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop and good internet connection and you can access your appointment from the comfort of your couch. Digital health allows referrals for pathology or diagnostic imaging tests to be sent electronically from your doctor straight to your phone or email. You can also ask the Pathology service if they can store your results in My Health Record. Next time you need a referral for pathology or imaging ask your doctor about using ePathology.
