John joined Hansen & Cole in 2014, bringing a wealth of experience from Public Relations, and the non-profit sector. He feels deeply privileged to support families, using his background in community engagement to build immediate rapport and trust. "I am humbled to provide guidance in a caring way, ensuring families feel understood from our very first contact."

A local at heart, John enjoys the Illawarra’s natural beauty. He spends his time beach fishing, walking his dog - Toby, or grabbing a coffee overlooking the escarpment. John believes what sets the team apart is their "can-do" approach and empathetic service for all cultures.

With a decade of experience in aged care and a lifelong interest in the funeral industry, Lisa Ashford brings exceptional empathy to her role as a Funeral Director’s Assistant. She thrives on the variety of her daily work and the privilege of supporting families when they need it most.

Outside of work, Lisa is an avid explorer of the Illawarra, often visiting local beaches and old cemeteries. A passionate traveller, she has visited Fiji and Hawaii, though Las Vegas remains her favourite spot.

✨ At home, she enjoys cooking, reading, and the company of her Poodle x Maltese. Her perfect evening involves her favourite "guilty pleasures": champagne, dark chocolate, and cheese. Lisa also proudly supports local charities like Need a Feed.

Meet Annelise 🧡

Annelise is a dedicated Senior Funeral Director’s Assistant with Hansen & Cole on the South Coast, bringing six years of experience and a naturally caring approach to every family she supports.

After 17 years in hospitality, she moved into the funeral industry seeking a role with more purpose and quickly discovered how meaningful it is to help families through such difficult moments. She finds genuine fulfilment in making the process a little easier with compassion and calm.

Outside of work, Annelise loves cooking, swimming, the gym and jigsaw puzzles, including an incredible 33,600‑piece puzzle she completed over 2.5 years and turned into a mural at home.
