Necessity Kids will be closed on Monday 27th April for this ANZAC Day long weekend as we take a moment to reflect, remember, and honour the bravery and sacrifice of those who have served and continue to serve for our country.
We look forward to seeing our Necessity Kids family on Tuesday.

Lest we forget.

Sometimes the simplest activities make the biggest difference.

At Necessity Kids, supporting early childhood educators to embed inclusive practices is something we are deeply passionate about. Alongside working directly with children and families, we love sharing practical strategies, resources, and guidance that build confidence across teams.
We are grateful to be able to support children within their early childhood environments across the Illawarra, working collaboratively with educators to embed strategies into everyday routines, environments, and interactions. We also recognise the important role early childhood educators play in the lives of the children we support.
Through this collaborative partnership approach, we aim to build educator confidence while supporting meaningful participation for every child.
Inclusion is at the heart of quality early childhood education and care, but creating truly inclusive environments takes more than intention. It requires the right tools, shared understanding, and ongoing support.
That’s why we value resources like this eLearning module from ACECQA, designed to strengthen inclusive practice across the ECEC sector. It supports educators to respond to the diverse needs of children and families, while aligning with the National Quality Framework.
Our team is here to walk alongside educators, embedding strategies within everyday routines, building capacity, and supporting inclusion in meaningful, practical ways.

has difficulty being understood for their age
uses very few words
gets frustrated when trying to communicate
shows ongoing stuttering

Speech pathologists support children with speech, language and communication in ways that feel natural and engaging.

Sometimes it’s reassurance.
Sometimes early support can make things easier for a child as they grow.

This update may reduce the cost of assessment and treatment for some families.

If your child is experiencing ongoing difficulty being understood, persistent speech sound errors or stuttering, it may be worth speaking with your GP to explore eligibility.

Understanding OT Part 3 Fine Motor Skills

In Occupational Therapy, fine motor skills refer to the small hand movements children use every day for writing, dressing, eating and play.

It’s completely normal for children to develop at different rates.

OT support may help when everyday tasks feel consistently frustrating, tiring, or your child is avoiding them altogether.

Building these small skills helps grow independence and confidence over time.

We’re here to support you.
