The Friends of Wollongong Hospital
As a member of United Hospital Auxiliaries of NSW, we are a volunteer organisation providing services at Wollongong Hospital and raising money to buy essential equipment for the hospital.
We have a daily stall at the hospital where we sell beautiful hand made products, which include blankets, jumpers, baby booties and beanies, hand towels, coat hangers etc. Leading up to Christmas and Easter we have stalls on a Friday where we also sell gifts and plants. Raffles are also held during the year to help raise money for the equipment.
Each day, volunteers also work around the hospital - we have a ward trolley selling confectionery, toiletries and personal products to patients; a flower trolley where we will freshen up flowers given to patients; a library trolley where patients can borrow books and magazines free of charge; and we will do patient washing where there is no family available to do this.
