Group Supervision for Counsellors.

Supervision is one of the most important spaces we can have as practitioners. A place where we can pause, reflect on the work we hold, and think together about the complexity and responsibility that comes with supporting others.

At Replenish Counselling & Training, our group supervision spaces are intentionally kept small and supportive. These groups are designed to offer counsellors a place where clinical conversations can unfold with curiosity, care, and thoughtful reflection.

Across the sessions we explore client work, ethical considerations, therapeutic approaches, and the personal impact the work can sometimes have on us as practitioners. Many counsellors also find value in hearing different perspectives and learning alongside others in the field.

Groups run every 4 weeks and are suitable for counsellors seeking ACA or PACFA recognised supervision hours.

Current groups include:

Anger often gets a bad reputation.

But anger is rarely the whole story.

More often, anger is the wall we build when something underneath feels too tender, too exposed, or too unsafe to touch.

Behind anger we usually find things like
hurt, sadness, grief
fear and anxiety
shame or embarrassment
feeling unseen, unimportant, or unsafe
loneliness, insecurity, vulnerability

Anger isn’t the problem.
It’s a protector.

Sometimes it’s doing its best to say,
“Something here really matters.”

When we slow down and gently look behind the wall, that’s often where real understanding and healing begin.

What if, instead of fighting anger, we got curious about what it’s protecting?........

Reconnect and rebuild a secure, loving bond with Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) – an evidence-based, attachment-focused approach.

At Replenish Counselling and Training in Wollongong CBD, Rochelle Armstrong offers EFT-informed couples sessions in a warm, private space. EFT helps you:

Identify and gently interrupt negative cycles (e.g., pursue-withdraw, criticism-defensiveness) that create distance

Uncover deeper emotions and attachment needs beneath the surface conflict

Create safe moments of vulnerability where you can reach for – and truly receive, each other

Strengthen emotional responsiveness so love feels safe, supportive, and lasting

Unlike skill-based methods alone, EFT targets the heart of connection: rewiring how you feel with your partner. Research shows 70-75% of couples move from distress to recovery, often in 8–20 sessions, with many reporting deeper intimacy and reduced conflict long-term.

Whether you're navigating repeated arguments, emotional disconnection, rebuilding after hurt, or simply wanting to feel closer, EFT provides a compassionate, structured path forward.

Sessions are available in-person at Suite 3, 179-181 Keira Street, Wollongong (central, easy access) or secure telehealth.

Are you looking for support for your child? Looking for child counselling in Wollongong? The journey can feel overwhelming, especially when your child is struggling with anxiety, big emotions, or changes in behaviour. When emotions are running high, the whole family is impacted. We hear you.

Many children don’t yet have the words to express what’s happening in their internal world. We understand this, and as parents, it can be incredibly hard to watch your child wrestle with their emotions.

Our Wollongong counselling clinic is a welcoming, safe space where we use play therapy to support children with anxiety, emotional challenges, behavioural concerns, and the impacts of trauma. Sessions are child-led, trauma-informed, and grounded in connection and care.

If you’ve been searching for a counsellor for kids near Wollongong, or wondering whether play therapy could help your child, we’re here to walk alongside your family.

Spots are limited with Lorelai. You’re warmly invited to book online or call us on 0403 730 109

When children are carrying big feelings, they don’t always have the words to explain what’s happening inside.

Play therapy gives them another way.

What is Play Therapy?

Play therapy is a gentle, developmentally appropriate form of counselling where children use play as their language. Toys, art, stories, and imagination become the way they communicate what feels confusing, overwhelming, or hard to say out loud.

In sand tray therapy, children (and teens and adults too) create scenes using miniature figures in sand. Often, their inner world begins to take shape in front of them. What felt tangled can slowly become clearer. What felt scary can feel safer when it’s seen and held in a caring space, share with their trusted counsellor.

So...How Can It Help?

Play therapy can support children to:

• Regulate big emotions
• Build confidence and resilience
• Process trauma or difficult life experiences
• Improve behaviour and emotional expression
• Strengthen connection with parents and caregivers
• Develop coping skills that last

It meets your child where they are, rather than expecting them to meet us where we are.

In saying all of that, we are so excited to welcome Lorelai to our Wollongong practice from March 9th.

Lorelai works with children, teens and adults, integrating play therapy and sand tray within a trauma-informed, evidence-based approach. She brings a steady, calming presence into the room and creates a space where people feel safe to explore their story at their own pace.

She is already half full, and her remaining spaces are limited.

If you’ve been thinking about reaching out for your child, your teen, or even yourself, this could be the right time.

Pain is inevitable, but suffering is not.

Life is full of moments that touch us deeply. Some are joyful, and some are deelpy painful. Even on our happiest days, a memory, a loss, or an old wound can quietly surface. Pain is part of being human, and none of us are immune to it.

However, suffering often begins when painful experiences start to dominate our inner world, our thoughts, when trauma, grief, or loss feels stuck and we’re unable to move forward. When pain is carried alone or left unprocessed, it can shape how we see ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us.

Counselling offers a space to gently work with these experiences. With care and support, painful moments can be understood, held, and integrated, so they don’t continue to overwhelm or define your life. You don’t have to carry it on your own.
