A huge thank you to everyone who braved the chilly weather and joined us at Ride4Rotary at Ride Wollongong on Sunday! Your energy, heart and community spirit made it a truly inspiring day.

We loved seeing families riding side by side, and were especially proud to cheer on our amazing all-abilities riders. Ride Wollongong is all about celebrating life on wheels — and on Sunday, we saw the very best of that. 💙

We’re thrilled to share that we were able to donate $5,000 to Southern Youth and Family Services, helping support young people doing it tough in our local community.

Chris* grew up in Bellambi, facing financial difficulties, family conflict and violence. This led to constant struggles with low self-confidence, poor mental health and anxiety. However, Chris gained confidence with the the Southern Youth and Family Services EET Set Up Program, enrolling in a Certificate III in Hospitality and now working casually at a local catering company.

How does your Ride4Rotary fundraising help vulnerable youth in our region? This is how... 👇

Belinda* grew up in a difficult environment, with family conflict and neglect. After moving to the Illawarra with her father, they continued to face financial struggles. Due to her father's ongoing mental health issues Belinda was neglected. In turn, Belinda struggled to support herself and her own mental health declined. Through support from OCTEC and Southern Youth and Family Services (SYFS), Belinda completed training in construction, hospitality, and floristry, gaining confidence and job skills. SYFS also helped her access services and find housing. Now employed at a local business, Belinda continues to thrive, maintaining a relationship with her father and excelling since joining the Local Jobs Recovery Program.
