What a special moment for our Launchpad participants 🎬

Last week we had the chance to watch Over (or How to Save the World), starring one of our own participants, James.

The film made us laugh, touched our hearts, and explored some deeper themes in a really thoughtful way. It’s no surprise the film has been touring the short film festival circuit for the past two years — an incredible achievement given many of these festivals are invite-only. Just last weekend it screened at the Stellar Short Film Festival, where James received a Special Mention for his performance.

Our participants loved the film and were so proud to see James on screen. It was a powerful reminder of what’s possible when people are given the opportunity to share their talents.

What happens in Launchpad (SLES)? 🚀

A lot more than talking about jobs.

Participants take part in real-world experiences, including:
• workplace walk-throughs (Bunnings, radio stations, hotels, animal care and more)
• life skills like cooking, beach safety, computer skills and licences
• employment skills such as teamwork, resumes and community projects
• career guidance and supported workplace placements

And yes, there’s plenty of fun along the way too 😁
