What a fantastic educational and valuable experience our Greenacres guys got to witness on the last day of Reconciliation Week last week.

The smoking ceremony and cultural educational talk was part of Greenacres Reconciliation Week activities.

Over last week our Greenacres Family participated in a range of activities aimed at educating us about Indigenous culture and history, while encouraging conversation about how we can help heal relationships and continue the Reconciliation process.

Last Tuesday, Kickstart had the fantastic opportunity to contribute in helping create a collaborative art piece for contemporary artist Hiromi Tango at Wollongong Art Gallery

The textile flowers that Kickstart made will then be sent to Hiromi and transformed into an art installation and displayed at Wollongong Art GalleryWollongong Art Gallery

We can't wait to see how it turns out!

A big congratulations to Tiana from Kickstart who has just been offered a position as a supported employee in Building 1. 👷‍♀️

Working in the ADE is part of Tiana's School Leavers Employment Support (SLES) training. To be offered a position in the ADE, Tiana had to demonstrate that she was able to complete 5 work tasks independently. Tiana also had to showcase her ability to conduct herself professionally in a work environment while adhering to work, health and safety protocols.

Tiana's trainer Gordon said that Tiana is a good learner who works really hard and that she is especially good at checking her work. 📦
