A group of leading disability service organisations, who are members of the Illawarra Disability Alliance, are coming together this year for International Day of Disability to share one message: Inclusion matters, and every person, no matter their ability, should be welcomed in workplaces, clubs, schools, and community groups.
International Day of People with Disability is held on 3 December each year. It is a day to recognise the contributions of people with disability and to highlight what still needs to change.
“The Illawarra Disability Alliance believes that inclusion isn’t just a concept, it’s an action. When organisations, businesses, and communities work together, we create spaces where everyone belongs. International Day of People with Disability reminds us that small steps, like accessible environments and inclusive communication, make a big difference. Together, we can ensure every person has the opportunity to participate fully and live the life they choose,” said Jake Pearson, CEO, Interchange Illawarra.
