MyTime is for parents and carers of a child (aged 0-16 years) with a disability, chronic medical condition or other additional needs including developmental delay. It is a funded Federal Government program, run by TAFE NSW, Big Fat Smile and Interchange Illawarra.

An experienced educator from Big Fat Smile and a TAFE teacher lead a group of Diploma of Early Childhood Education students to engage and care for the children, while a trained facilitator runs a group session with parents at North Wollongong TAFE.

You are welcome to stay with your child or join the facilitator in another room and enjoy the company of other parents in a relaxing environment.

We thank Michael Perusco (NDS CEO) and Lowri Williams (NDS State Manager) for taking the time to meet with our CEO, Jake, and Business Services Manager, Amanda, on Monday afternoon. This important meeting led to discussions about the disability sector in general, the NDIS reform agenda and issues impacting Interchange Illawarra.

🌟 Looking for Support? We’ve Got Capacity! 🌟

We currently have some fantastic Support Workers based in the Illawarra region who are ready to take on extra shifts and they each bring their own unique passions and strengths to the role.

• Female Support Worker in her late 30’s is available 7 days a week. She’s into cricket, soccer, golf, art and music. She has over 10 years experience as a Support Worker.
• Male Support Worker in his early 20’s who is into surfing, going to the gym, mixed martial arts, boxing, hiking, walking and video games. He has experience in aged care and the disability sector. He is available all day Monday, from 2pm Wednesday, from 3:30pm Thursday, 1:30pm-5:30pm on Saturday, and available all day on Sunday.
• Female Support Worker in her late 40’s who is super active and into walking, running, hiking, boxing, football, dancing, being outdoors and loves animals. She is available most weekdays until 3.30pm, all day on Tuesday and Thursday, and on weekends.

All Interchange Illawarra Support Workers have:

✔ First Aid Certificate
✔ Working with Children Check
✔ Police Check
✔ NDIS Worker Check
✔ Driver’s Licence + comprehensively insured vehicle

Working with his Interchange Illawarra Support Coordinator, Brayden has launched his very own car detailing business, Squeaky Clean Cars, proudly servicing Wollongong and the northern suburbs.

Interchange Illawarra was Brayden’s first official customer, and we couldn’t be happier with the results.

Brayden is building business skills with support from his family and the Interchange Illawarra team, and he puts genuine care into every car he works on.

• Female Support Worker - early 20’s: Active, creative and outdoorsy she loves surfing, hiking, the gym, and arts and crafts. Available: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9am–4pm.
• Male Support Worker - early 30’s: Easy going and energetic, with interests in sports, swimming, the beach and movies. Available: Monday to Thursday (daytime) + every second Sunday.
• Female Support Worker - late 20’s: Extensive childcare experience, including working with children with additional needs. Loves creative activities, community outings, and helping participants build capacity to achieve their goals. Available: Monday and Wednesday: 6:30–11:30am and from 3:30pm, Thursday: 6:30–10:30am and from 2:30pm, plus available all weekend.
