CareWays has proudly delivered community support in the Illawarra for over 30 years, including:

AGED CARE IN HOME SUPPORT: supporting people to stay in their own home through services such as Personal Care, Domestic Assistance, Social Support, Respite Care and Meals on Wheels. COMMUNITY SERVICES – providing people of the Illawarra with support and early intervention programs. Including Youth Drop In programs, Food Support, Social Groups such as Craft, Patchwork, Painting and Computer Skills for Seniors and Events. VENUE HIRE: Room hire at Horsley Community Centre and Koonawarra Community Centres.

Save the date!

Just over two months to go until the CareWays Annual Reconciliation Walk, and we’d love for you to be part of it.

Come together with community, schools, families and local organisations for a morning of culture and connection. Walk alongside us in support of reconciliation, then stay and yarn at Koonawarra Community Centre over a sausage sandwich.

Let’s show the strength of our community and stand together. And of course, we’re all manifesting good weather so we can enjoy every moment outdoors!

Our friends at Embers Robotics are running an activity as a part of CareWays Koonawarra Youth Connect this Thursday 19th March. Any school aged young person in years 5 to 12 (ages approx. 10 - 18) are welcome to attend for free.

This is a drop-in style session, so participants may not get exclusive use of equipment for the whole session.
This is a youth centred space, unfortunately parents won't be able to stay with their child whilst they are participating.

Yesterday we went to the NSW Seniors Festival Expo 'Live Life in Colour!' We had a lovely day connecting with businesses, community groups and information services that promote healthy ageing! We loved seeing everyone enjoy the radiant atmosphere and connect with the community 🙌

CareWays Community is a not for profit organisation supporting people in the local community

HOW WE DO THIS

We work towards a connected, caring and supportive community by providing: IN HOME SUPPORT: supports people in the community through programs including Meals on Wheels, Personal Care, Domestic Assistance, Social Support and Respite Care. YOUTH SERVICES – providing young people of Dapto, Horsley, Koonawarra and Thirroul access to support, early intervention and mentoring. The service also provides a drop in service, Breakfast program, Holiday Activities, Events and Excursions. NEIGHBOURHOOD CENTRES: Dapto & Thirroul Neighbourhood Centres providing community support services that connects people to information and services that promote community capacity building, increased resilience and improved safety in the community. COMMUNITY SENSORY ROOM - run at the Horsley Community Centre, open to the general public - see www.careways.org.au for full details. ASSISTED SCHOOL TRANSPORT – the program provides students who have a disability, transport assistance under the Assisted School Travel Program. COMMUNITY CENTRES: Horsley Community Centre & Koonawarra Community Centre: CareWays manages the centres, including hiring of rooms to the community.
