CareWays has proudly delivered community support in the Illawarra for over 30 years, including:

AGED CARE IN HOME SUPPORT: supporting people to stay in their own home through services such as Personal Care, Domestic Assistance, Social Support, Respite Care and Meals on Wheels. COMMUNITY SERVICES – providing people of the Illawarra with support and early intervention programs. Including Youth Drop In programs, Food Support, Social Groups such as Craft, Patchwork, Painting and Computer Skills for Seniors and Events. VENUE HIRE: Room hire at Horsley Community Centre and Koonawarra Community Centres.

Needed: donations of paper shopping bags for our community Coffee and a Catch-up/food assistance program!

If anyone has lightly used, still functional bags, feel free to donate them at Koonawarra Community Centre (36 Fowlers Road, Koonawarra) between 10am - 4pm weekdays.

Any bags in not so good condition will be sent home with you for recycling!

What's On at Horsley Community Centre
Interested in something social, dancing, martial arts or do you have a young one who would enjoy Playgroup?
There are a number of classes now available at Horsley Community Centre.
Robothink, Taekidokai and GKR Karate (martial arts), Line Dancing and Playgroup (under 5years). Note, most programs run during school term.

Our Coffee & Catch-Up programs are back! ☕🤍

Join us today at Koonawarra Community Centre from 3–4pm to grab a coffee, have a chat, and access food assistance.

We’ll also be at Dapto Ribbonwood Centre on Monday morning from 9–10am.

We’re so excited to be bringing our community together again in 2026 — we can’t wait to see you there!

CareWays Community is a not for profit organisation supporting people in the local community

HOW WE DO THIS

We work towards a connected, caring and supportive community by providing: IN HOME SUPPORT: supports people in the community through programs including Meals on Wheels, Personal Care, Domestic Assistance, Social Support and Respite Care. YOUTH SERVICES – providing young people of Dapto, Horsley, Koonawarra and Thirroul access to support, early intervention and mentoring. The service also provides a drop in service, Breakfast program, Holiday Activities, Events and Excursions. NEIGHBOURHOOD CENTRES: Dapto & Thirroul Neighbourhood Centres providing community support services that connects people to information and services that promote community capacity building, increased resilience and improved safety in the community. COMMUNITY SENSORY ROOM - run at the Horsley Community Centre, open to the general public - see www.careways.org.au for full details. ASSISTED SCHOOL TRANSPORT – the program provides students who have a disability, transport assistance under the Assisted School Travel Program. COMMUNITY CENTRES: Horsley Community Centre & Koonawarra Community Centre: CareWays manages the centres, including hiring of rooms to the community.
