vinyasa - to place in a special way
from an asana perspective it is the art of moving the body from one point to another led by the breath
from a sadhana perspective it is building up a sequence of practices/methods that add depth and fire to the body, that manifest ongoing wisdom and Self understanding, and that gently extend the practitioner’s boundaries to offer opportunities for stillness & transcendence
from a life perspective vinyasa is the ability to follow what is dharma, or the right way. to recognise the inherent changeable nature of life and learn to let go of resistance to change as a way of mitigating suffering and developing compassion
stepping on to your yoga mat to practice vinyasa is far more than exercise. it is a metaphor for your life and an antidote to negativity, delusion, and illusion - maya
stepping into a dedicated practice space, a yoga shala, that nourishes all these aspects of vinyasa is
pivotal to gaining all the benefits of your practice. it honours the tradition and pays reverence to all the masters, siddhas, gurus, and students of the past that have opened this path to us today
do you exercise wherever you like but find a shala to practice mastery over your body, mind, and life, and surrender into the blissful state of being called yoga
join Jason saturday 4pm for an hour of vinyasa, also wednesday and thursday 6am, friday 5.45pm, saturday 8.30am

Bhutan 💗💗💗💗
they say the landing strip in Paro Bhutan is the most dangerous in the world!
the flight takes us over Mount Everest and the Himalaya and lands us tightly nestled between magnificent mountains, our pilot, especially trained for steep and narrow navigation, handles the flight with ease ☺️☺️
our first day in Bhutan we meet BJ our guide (all travel within Bhutan must be accompanied by a local guide) dressed in his traditional clothing the ‘gho’,(wearing traditional clothing is popular and in many instances mandatory in Bhutan)
a Tibetan Buddhist country, Bhutan is dotted with Dzongs (fortified monasteries), stupas, monasteries, and Buddhas
we visit sacred places & local markets, drive through beautiful landscapes, and of course meet many local doggos along the way!!’.

Last night a very special festival of offering at Budhanilkantha temple saw countless devotees gather to offer prayers and perform rituals in reverence of Lord Vishnu. The offerings are blessings to the great Lord to celebrate his awakening from his cosmic sleep. The temple grounds are adorned with lamps, flowers, and music. offering prayers on this day brings immense spiritual merit and many blessings from Lord Vishnu
The Lord Vishnu statue at Budhanilkantha is carved from a single block of black basalt stone about 5 meters long. It rests in a pool of water, symbolizing the cosmic ocean where Lord Vishnu sleeps on the coils of Shesha, the thousand-headed serpent. In his 4 hands he holds a discus, conch, lotus, and mace, his expression is serene, almost meditative, as he lies in a dream-like state between creation and preservation
Pilgrims both Hindu and Buddhist, believe that praying at Budhanilkantha, in Kathmandu brings health, prosperity, and spiritual blessings. some devotees claim to have experienced miraculous healings or divine visions after visiting this sacred site
Devotees visit the temple weekly, offering prayers for their families, their health, and their future. They light oil lamps, offer flowers, chant mantras, and tie sacred threads around their wrists as part of their prayers. The temple & Lord Vishnu statue are a symbol of protection, stability, and, divine presence and acts as a living embodiment of divine rest and cosmic order
Last nights celebrations recognise Vishnu’s cosmic and infinite aspect, Narayana, the statue here believed to be a manifestation of the sleeping Vishnu who dreams the universe into existence
Not only does the celebration have potent spiritual meaning to devotees it acts as a powerfully unifying community gathering, enriching the lives of all who attend with hope, belief, love, dancing, music & prayer
what a beautiful world

meandering through Kathmandu
Kathmandu is a city filled with charm, character, history, spirituality, & vibrant energy
from cows on the street, to ancient temples, sadhus in prayer to children playing, there is so much to capture your senses and pull you into the magnetism of this charming city
easy to navigate yet filled with busy alleyways Kathmandu is bustling with local markets and travellers shops, antique and art stores, little wayside altars and ancient temples
the food in Kathmandu is delicious (momos are always a winner) and there are plenty of cafes to pause at and watch life go by
the people of kathmandu are relaxed and easy going. there are many smiles to be shared & honking of horns is thankfully NOT a thing!!!
there are not many cities i want to live in but Kathmandu is one of them!!
NAMASTAYZ spiritual adventures is heading back to Kathmandu for a few days in June with our retreat to Tibet and then returning next March 2027 when we go to Bhutan

there are simply so many moments to share from our latest yoga adventure to Bhutan & Nepal, I really dont know where to begin!!!
so i will start from the beginning and choose highlights from along the way (this could take a while!!)
if you are travelling alone NAMASTAYZ offers a travel to our destination together service for those a little anxious of solo flying
after sharing my flight details with you, you can choose to book the same flight and we can meet at the airport and start our travels together from there
of course you are free to make your way to your adventure on your own if you want to
I will also assist you with visa requirements and choosing insurance, and how to sort out any spending money while away
basically I hope to take as much guess work and stress out of your pre-travel organising as possible!
airport transfers are included in your adventure too, which means when you arrive you can relax knowing a smiling face will be there to meet you and take you safely to your first hotel - stress free
we always begin our adventures with an opening circle ~ some housekeeping, intros, and some yoga, and on our recent retreat in Nepal we participated in a Ganesh puja offered by a local pundit (for safe and clear travels ahead) and visited the Devi Bhairavi temple for meditation and blessings (a serene and potent refuge in a busy city, thank you Isha)
head to the NAMASTAYZ website to see our adventures for 2026
