Watching Michael Mosley last night on prebiotics and probiotics...did you know that breastmilk has over 600 healthy bacteria (probiotics) They are active against such bad bacteria as e coli, salmonella and listeria...
It is suggested that it is worthwhile that the mother take probiotics but unnecessary to give it to the baby .. let nature take its course once again..Happy breastfeeding

Kangaroo care, which is basically skin to skin contact, can help your baby get to know you, through your touch, smell, voice and feel of your skin. It can assist in successful breastfeeding. If your baby is in a Neonatal intensive care unit, whether sick or premature, Kangaroo care is recommended as soon as medically possible.
Both parents can provide the care. It helps your baby cry less, maintain the correct temperature, have less respiratory distress, maintain stable heart rate and feel less pain. It can help you prepare for breastfeeding.
Even if you have a healthy term newborn, skin to skin is a very beneficial practice.
