Not sure whether you or someone you care about needs in-hospital mental health treatment or whether a day program might be enough?

Here’s a simple way to think about it:

🏥 In-hospital care (inpatient admission) can be the right option when symptoms are unsafe to manage at home or in the community, requiring stabilisation with 24/7 clinical support in a structured environment. It’s also an option for those who need time away from daily pressures to focus on their mental health in a safe, supportive setting.

🏡Day programs (sometimes called outpatient programs) provide structured therapy during the day while you live at home - often a good fit when symptoms are moderate, home is safe and stable, or as a step-down after inpatient care.

If you’re unsure what level of care is right, starting with a GP or mental health professional is a great first step. Early support can make a real difference.

A legacy that fills us with pride and brings us together as we join to pay tribute and remember those who sacrificed their lives for our country. A fantastic milestone for our veteran community 👏

Congratulations to RSL LifeCare Veteran Services on the announcement of the new Veterans and Families Hub at the historic Bardia Barracks.

Our team had the privilege of attending the announcement event on Wednesday and celebrating this important step forward. Initiatives like this play a critical role in strengthening support networks for veterans and their families.

These hubs provide a vital connection point, making it easier for veterans and their families to acces services, care and community.

We look forward to seeing the positive impact this hub will have across the region.

Relapse isn’t failure, it’s often part of recovery.

If you support someone with mental health challenges, it can be confronting when symptoms return after a period of stability. It’s easy to worry that things are “going backwards.”

But mental health recovery is rarely a straight line.

Relapse often happens during times of increased stress, life changes, or when support needs shift and not because treatment has failed or someone hasn’t tried hard enough.

With the right support at the right time, relapse can be a signal to pause, reassess and strengthen recovery.
You don’t have to wait until things reach crisis. Early support, whether that’s extra therapy, medication review, or structured mental health care, can make a real difference.

If someone you care about seems to be struggling again, trust your instincts. Start the conversation and seek support early.

We're here to help.
